Great location, quiet, peacfull, comfortable beds and perfectly cooked breakfast, plus a nice buffet selection of cerials, pastries etc. The only negative was not very nice coffee and there wasn't enough of fresh berries to go round. The restaurant staff are really great. The Spa facility was small, the sauna situated as you come into the spa so no privacy, the sauna has a glass wall. The "changing room" was the toilet. The Spa Massage Therapist was good and provided a nice full body massage. The products used in the spa are, all natural, Gaia. We visited for a Wellness Getaway Package staying 2 nights for £560.00 including breakfast. But the Eastbury is NOT a 5 star hotel, maybe a 3 star at best. We have stayed in all levels of hotel from Premier Inn and Pub/Inn's providing B & B to Beaverbrook near Leatherhead . Tylney Hall near Basingstoke earns 4 star and tbh Eastbury Hotel looks awful value for money in comparrisson. Our Superior Luxury Double room was not luxurious, we are very confused by the claim. It has been refurbished in the not too distant past, however, some very unusual methods of workmanship, leaves us feeling that its just not right, including a banister that crosses a windowsill and a roman blind that is split at the bottom to straddle the said bannister? The ensuite shower is accessed via a tight manoever around the wall hung toilet that is set at a low height suited to children. The washbasin had tap controls more suited to a bath. There were cobwebs in the bathroom and the windows. The carpet was very dirty and in a need of a good clean. The room had all the ususal, iroring board, hairdrier as well as coffee and tea making facilities. The staff lack attention to detail. The first impression was bad, arriving at reception desk to see a vase with flowers that had seen better days.
