We had a wonderful two night stay at Bowlish House, and were totally charmed by the beautiful historic building and the charming and wonderful host Maryanne, who made our stay better than 5 stars! Comfortable, very clean bedrooms, and an amazing Continental Breakfast Spread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just enjoyed an exclusive hire of this amazing space for a multigenerational family celebration. Even with the catering, per head, it was significantly cheaper than staying in a Travelodge. The house, as you can see from the pictures, is stunning. The location is also gorgeous. Maryanne, the hostess and owner, could not do enough for her guests. Genuinely interested in people and helpful but also discrete and could tell when we wanted to be on our own. The house is immaculate, with gorgeous common areas, and the food was devine. Beds comfy, rooms spacious and it was quiet at night. Our catering package was such good value and delicious. The best ingredient was the warmth of the welcome and the excellent hosting. Enjoy.

A quaint hotel with a very welcoming atmosphere and lots of artistic touches. Nothing was too much trouble. A wide variety of options for the continental breakfast. Although a listed building it did not seem creepy at night. Central for visiting Wells and Glastonbury but need to drive somewhere to eat as even a long walk into Shepton Mallet and we enjoy walking. Wonderful host

Just had a lovely stay at Bowlish house - we were visiting for a wedding - me and my 2 young children. Maryanne was a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast, really good tea and coffee facilities. Our room was lovely and she was great with the kids who absolutely loved her.

If you are thinking of booking here - don’t. I have been significantly overcharged for our stay and the owner has declined to sort this, despite my numerous calls, texts and messages. Disgusted by how we have been treated. Would not recommend staying here

We had a lovely time and have already recommended Bowlish House to many friends. It is the quintessential country house hotel. The rooms are cozy & the breakfast is delicious. It was the perfect spot from which to explore the rest of Somerset

The room was nothing like the pictures, when I told the lady at reception that this was the case , she accused me of being racist and her partner chased me out the hotel screaming abusive language at me and that I should leave ! I was beyond shocked as I didn't mention anything about anyone's skin colour , my comment was about the room . Furthermore they chased us to our car . We left in shock and left .

The charming property together with host Nicola's ability to make us feel so at ease and comfortable are the main points to mention. The character of the house, even the creaky floorboards, was very appealing. The effort to make our stay so personal particularly as it was to celebrate my father's 80th birthday was immeasurable. Beds exceptionality comfortable, lovely hot shower, breakfast was amazing and our dog felt like he was at a home from home, made a friend and shared a sausage at breakfast. This was a true gem of a place to stay, with a very attentive host who couldn't do enough to please us.

Unfathomable Beauty! Stayed here for three days in September. Absolute find, spiffing views, unparalleled service, historical opulence. From booking to stay the experience was first to none. Owners looked after me all the way throughout and on site the Sterling service continued right up until departure. Great food, amazing rooms, and in matched aesthetics! Garden makes Kew look like a small park! 100 per cent recommend and will come back!
