So, on the first day, after finishing the pre-booked Western set menu, I had a few extra pastries, so I asked the waiter for a takeaway box, and they were very kind in providing a paper bag. On the second day, after finishing the pre-booked Chinese set menu, I had three small pastries from the buffet that I felt I couldn't finish, and again asked for a takeaway box to avoid waste. However, the waiter that day said that buffets didn't offer takeaways, and even after I reminded them that it would be wasteful, they said it was okay. This small matter bothered me. First, the service standards were different on the two days. Second, even if the buffet industry does prohibit taking out food, this was just hotel breakfast, and only two or three extra pastries. Should we rather waste them than violate the so-called buffet rules? Does this even apply to buffet regulations? In all my years of experience staying in hotels of all sizes, I've never encountered anything like this. Some hotels have even proactively offered takeout containers so that my travel companions could take some food back to their room after learning they hadn't come for breakfast. So this is something I really don't understand."

The staff asked me to cancel my booking and rebook cheaper rooms because they cannot provide breakfast. I insisted on taking breakfast somewher nearby. She showed me a picture of a simple breakfast and siad it could be delivered to rooms. If something like this happens in other hotels, they would offer room upgrade or some kind of compensation. Asking the guest to cancel and rebook is absurd. It was also impossible to connect to Wife if you do not have a Chinese number. She didn't tell me this for an hour. All in all the service attitude was quite poor despite excellent rooms. What a pity!"
