First of all, why does Marriott restrict members from leaving a review on the Marriott site? What are the afraid of, especially from a lifetime Platinum member? I feel completely ripped off at this hotel. The location is ok but everything else is suspect. Service is slow and unprofessional. The rooftop they picture is contracted out to a third party so you are dealing with people off the street at your own pool and bar. I couldn’t even get a drink at the rooftop bar as it was so crowded and full of young obnoxious kids. Loud until 130 am and every room affected. I would not stay here again. Better choices. Not up to Marriott standards but they hide that. So disappointed.

Aircon is nice, bed is comfortable. That’s the only positive aspect of our stay. The location and historical surrounding was amazing but the hotel atmosphere severely undermines the beauty Sevilla brings to bear. That said, here are the minor things we picked up which really impacted my perception of the Marriott brand. 4 stars, really? I am not sure what to expect from a Tribute Portfolio to be honest but that’s the least of my concerns. First impressions of not welcoming is an issue no guest should have to put up with. Period. There is no sign of life from the staff. God bless Marriott, present and future stays. Is it that difficult to provide your loyal guests an extra towel and some WD40 lubrication for the squeaky hinges of the bathroom door? We were at the attractions all day and coming back to the room unfulfilled. Bonvoy? More like Ahoy.. we couldn’t wait to sail out!

We had a great 3 night stay at this property, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. A couple of very minor things were resolved very quickly. Our room was spacious, well equipped and very clean, the hotel overall was well maintained. Pool towels are provided in a handy basket to use to carry your things to the roof top area, never had that before and very useful. Definitely recommended.

Na enige jaren wederom hier geboekt. Prachtig hotel. Kregen een upgrade naar een grotere kamer. Uitstekende bedden, dito badkamer. Dagelijks nieuwe fles water op de kamer. Nu eens geen groot ontbijtbuffet maar kwalitatief van hoog niveau. Eitje wordt ter plaatse klaargemaakt. Bijzonder; ontbijt tot 11.30 uur, waar gretig gebruik van werd gemaakt. Prachtige rooftop bar, trendy muziek en coctailkaart. Klein zwembad op het dak. In de patio (wat een serene rust) mogelijkheid tot kopje koffie of 's avonds diner. Van diner zelf geen gebruik gemaakt maar de kaart beloofde veel goeds (geen tapas). Receptie medewerkers zeer behulpzaam, service in zijn geheel uitstekend. Klein minpuntje; het Engels van de medewerkers (muv receptie), liet te wensen over en het nadeel van een ontbijt tot 11.30 is dat het een uitdaging blijkt om alles tot dat tijdstip bij te vullen. Hotel in wat hogere prijsklasse maar is het zeker waard. Door omstandigheden (vlucht verzet) moesten wij de laatste nacht in het U-Sense hotel (150 meter verderop. Hotel 3 sterren en goedkoper, maar dan zie je gelijk ook het verschil in kwaliteit/service en faciliteiten.

Our first time in Sevilla and we enjoyed it. We had a warm welcome from the team including, Antonio Barnal, Jose, David, Alan, Pedro, Ana, Miguel, Inma, Paula, Leo and Claudia. Our room was a bit smaller than we would have hoped for and a few things needed fixing, like the outer door of the fridge and the safe, which was eventually fixed by the lovely Sebastian. Housekeeping, however, were not quite as efficient – each day they would forget to replace something or the other such as fresh glasses, toilet paper and even face towels. The building itself was quite charming, as parts of the structure from the 16th century had been preserved such as the mosaic floors and Arab columns. The hotel is situated in the Santa Cruz district, not far to walk for shopping, restaurants and visiting the Alcazar palace and other major attractions. The pool on the rooftop, was lovely too.

This hotel is in Marriott’s premium brand category, so we had high expectations upon arrival. I understand that it is an historic property, although nothing about the hotel’s historic nature was pointed out to us at check-in. That should be a given. On the positive side, the hotel is in an excellent location for walking around to all the sites. What it fell short on was the quality of the room, which was in dire need of maintenance. As soon as we found our room, we had problems with the keycard entry. Swipe card, light turns green, turn handle, door doesn’t open. On repeat! Eventually, the door opened, where other issues awaited us. The room safe was locked on our arrival, and the mini fridge was running hot, so everything inside it was warm. The bathroom door was warped, so using it meant pushing hard against it to get it to close. Not exactly quiet in the night. We did report all of this to the front desk staff, and they did reset the safe and replaced the batteries in the door entry. No help with the bathroom door, however, nor when the toilet seat literally came off its hinges our last evening there! We reported this on our way out for the evening, thinking it might be fixed by the time we got back. The desk staff shrugged and said it’s Saturday night, there won’t be any maintenance now. Our overall experience was disappointing, considering the reputation of Marriott. We are still waiting for our points to be posted as well.

Went as a family of three with one year old. Was skeptical cause of reviews as narrow roads so some cab drivers don’t want to go that far but we booked airport transfer via hotel so made it easier. Few steps around the hotel but ramp access available. Huge thanks to abde on reception, he was so helpful and friendly with our baby. Can be tricky on some roads with buggy but we managed to go around the city a lot as everything is walking distance so was a huge plus for us. Really good location. Breakfasts was very average and have had a lot better and AC was not working during couple days and it was quite hot during our stay and cleaners did not clean room properly I noticed. Nice decor in rooms . On the whole was a good stay as very good location and abde was very helpful. Few negatives listed above.
