Cons There were no boxes of facial tissues in the room, so I asked for some. I was told they don’t provide it. There was no hair conditioner either & none was provided. I have long hair- hair conditioner is not a luxury but a necessity & something I expect in a hotel of this caliber. Both detracted from the experience. It makes the hotel sound cheap & they both don’t cost much. Do it! Buffet breakfast at 9Euro PP was continental & just fair. The male desk clerk was the rudest desk clerk I have ever encountered. There is no way he should be dealing with guests. He obviously did not like dealing with tourists. He was much better to me when I started speaking in Spanish. Maybe he doesn’t like non-Spanish speaking guests? I am not fluent in Spanish so that was why I spoke in English at first. We had just gotten to Spain, was jet lagged & my Spanish was rusty. After that encounter, I just tried to speak Spanish everywhere. Pros Really large nicely appointed room with a view of the castle. We had a jacuzzi in a separate room next to the bathroom. We also had a couch, desk & table & 2 chairs in the room. Nice outdoor seating area with great views of the castle. Good location- 10 minutes’ walk to the castle & 15 minutes to the aqueduct. Hotel has a strange layout with rooms on various levels & several elevators & hard to figure out until you get used to it. Take a taxi there as you won’t find it on your own. We flew in from overseas & stayed 2 nights. That worked out perfectly to get over jet lag & take our time. But probably one night is enough to see all the sights in Segovia. Conclusion- Segovia is a one & done city so we won’t be returning.
