Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The room had a smell that would not go away . We asked housekeeping to have some take look or smell - to fix it . The smell keep coming back

The property is 5 Diamonds in every way. Location central to all of Scottsdale. Grounds are beautiful and the housekeeping staff is excellent. All appointments in the spacious rooms are premium down to the leather box for the TV remote. We ate breakfasts in the Ironwood Grill and the food and service were 4 star. Best of all, the service and friendly staff elevated this resort to top level. This was the first time at the Princess; it won't be our last.

We came here because it was family friendly. Our fridge in our room was broken, I had to go down to the front desk to request a new fridge because they never picked up their phone when I called. We had a 5 month old baby who is breastfeeding and needs his breast milk in the fridge. When I requested the fridge, they said “it will be up shortly” we waited two hours before making a call, trying to look for staff members to ask them for our fridge and at last we eventually had to walk all the way down to the front desk to tell them we still need a fridge. We finally got our fridge but they put it in the middle of the room and didn’t even put the items from the old fridge to the new fridge like we requested. Also, we made sure there were soft chairs at the Pool because of the baby and when we called before making reservations, we were told that there were soft chairs. Upon arrival we asked again just to make sure and they had no idea what we were talking about. Anyway, so even the pool staff told us that there were soft chairs but at the other pools instead of the ones we were at. We had the run around this whole trip. There are more things that went wrong that I could write but it would be way too much. At the end, they asked us how our stay was and all we got was an apology.

Beautiful and expansive grounds with multiple great restaurants. The spa was one the bestive been to, with very knowledgeable and skilled therapists. Both the massage and facial were awesome. Excellent service from start to finish. I will definitely be back!

Before arriving, I called the front desk when I noticed there was a slight error on the dates. Since I was there for a conference, the clerk gave me the name and number of the person with my organization who was coordinating the trip. I contacted the person using the info he gave me, and received no reply. Upon further investigation, this person was not affiliated in any way with my organization. No problem. Mistakes happen! I got it sorted out by bypassing Fairmont. When I arrived, I was given a dirty/used room in the G building. I called the front desk to request a ride back, since I had my luggage and it's not a short walk. That ride was never sent. So I walked back and retrieved a key to a clean room. The front desk credited $100 to my room account for the inconvenience and hassle. When I got to the new room, the key didn't work..... The hot water did not work in my shower, but I didn't want to change rooms again. (This is my fault, of course, but do you blame me?) I have a picture and video of the water pressure if anyone is interested. When I checked out, there was no $100 credit on my statement (of course). I receive much better treatment at a Hilton. Not sure how they maintain a five star rating.

This place is amazing! Service staff were so wonderful and everything is perfectly done. Highly recommend staying in the gold rooms. The included breakfast and non alcoholic drinks all day was great. They put out a huge spread for appetizer hours from 4 to 6 and have dessert display afterwards. You can take back anything to your room. We used the espresso machine to make lattes all day. It’s well worth it especially the included spa access. We only had a spa service one day but spent time in the spa everyday as a gold member. Consider booking through Costco travel. We got a great deal and had a $50 dining and drink credit daily, waived resort fee.

This property is amazing in every possible way. The staff was helpful and located throughout the property -- which was needed to traverse the many buildings, restaurants, and meeting spots. From hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour to entres at onsite restaurants, every flavor profile was elevated for an experience unique to Fairmont and scrumptious. The room amenities were top notch and everything you would expect from a luxury resort. Pool areas included fountains for ambience, a sand beach, and there was a small water slide area. Cool mist fans were located throughout the property and were greatly appreciated by everyone in our group.

We had a great stay until October 8, when we went to the pool in the morning. The bar employee was not friendly and even rude. Also the phone line is answered one and two calls, and housekeeping is especially slow (October 7 in the am). However, very clean and the spa and golf cart staff are excellent. Next time for the luxury category, I would book the Four Seasons or Ritz for more consistent service levels.
