Travelodge Scotch Corner A1 Southbound

The Staff ( Leslie) and the night staff were fantastic, very helpful and made us welcome. The room was clean bed very comfortable. The shower great , oh and there is a bath. Would highly recommend staying here , great value for money. The staff helped by getting an iron and ironing board, numbers for taxis, told us about the local places to go. Just book it.

Stayed over for one night. Our first stay in a Travel Lodge and it won't be our last. A comfortable night in a very clean, functional and basic room. It had everything for a one night stay. We would definitely recommend

I recently stopped off at the Travelodge at Scotch Corner as I needed to make a phone call because my mobile had run out of charge. The receptionist kindly offered to let me use their phone to make a quick call. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff very friendly, especially Lesley and all the housekeeping team for a clean and comfortable stay. This hotel has had it's refurbishment and looks much better. On service area so plenty of options for food. Use Travelodge all the time. Great value for money.

This Travelodge appears to have been refurbished.Now have very good curtains to block out light and noise from passing traffic. Very clean all throughout. Comfy bed for a great night sleep. Bathroom a good size. Staff polite and friendly

Travelodges used to feel very down at heel, real bargain basement places. They seem to have improved. I thought I had quite a cosy room really, with a bath too, not just a shower. It is still quite basic really - you don’t get a hairdryer - but you do get a kettle with tea and coffee as well a TV (not the big screens you get at Premier Inns though). The only thing it really lacked is window netting. If you’re on the ground floor it feels like you have very little privacy as people walk by right outside your window. It’s very important to remember to register your car when you arrive. Otherwise you’ll get a fine. The console is at reception, and I was a bit surprised they didn’t remind me to do it when I checked in. Having said that the staff were really good here. They were polite and helpful. I had a problem turning off the bath tap at one point and she helped with that. There was also an issue with the toilet which was quickly sorted. The location is great for Richmond and the surrounding Dales as well as Darlington. It’s a decent if unglamorous location and if you only pay around £60 like I did, it’s good value. The best place for breakfast is the old station in Richmond which is a 15 minute drive away.
