This is an excellent hotel. We stayed here over New Year for the second year in a row. Pretty much faultless. Location - great - about 50m walk to the bottom of the main Planai gondola. It’s a great base to ski on 4 mountains - Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. You can ski to all these from Planai or take the free ski busses which leave from right outside the hotel or outside the Planai gondola. Without ski in-ski out, this is pretty much the best you’re going to get. 50m in the other direction is the town centre where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a big Spar supermarket around the corner as well as a Billa supermarket opposite the Planai lift. Apartment - we stayed in apartment 11 this year and apartment 12 last year. Both outstanding - plenty of space for 4 people, separate bedrooms and bathrooms and roomy living spaces which include a sofa and a kitchen table. There is also a kitchen area with a fridge, cooker, microwave, sink and dishwasher. No iron in the room but we asked if they had one available and one turned up at our door. Apartment service happens once a week - we stayed Saturday to Saturday and it was on Thursday. Slightly earlier in the week would have been ideal but it was New Year’s Day on the Wednesday so absolutely no issues with this. Hotel - you get a personal ski locker for your room and there are facilities to heat your ski boots which is useful. Sauna is fantastic, especially after a day of skiing. You get a free parking space if you’re staying at the hotel too. Melanie at reception is great - any request wasn’t too much. Danke for a great stay once again!
