The Grand Scarborough

Location gteat. No guarantee of car parking space outside hotel but fairly large drop off area. Car spaces outside hotel are free from 6pm to 9am, pay and display at other times. I'd checked in online but still had to wait in a long queue on arrival to collect key. Room had no windows, it was advertised as well ventilated but it wasn't, it was so hot, far too hot to sleep. Only toiletries provided were a soap dispenser. The shower was great. Room was small but just enough space. TV signal was awful. Tea and coffee provided and extra supplies available in reception. Views over the sea were lovely. Great terrace to sit outside.

Room not completely clean. Beds uncomfy, 1 pillow only, rock hard, had a smell coming from it, so had to cover it with my tshirt! Two different seagulls nesting on our window sill. Very cute to look at but was constant noise from them the minute we got in our room, and an awful smell from them as we needed windows open as it was so warm. And by about 4am the noise from those and every other seagull around got even louder and louder and more annoying. So between the uncomfortable lumpy bed & the seagulls we got no sleep. Luckily was a lovely sunny morning, so we were out of our smelly, boiling hot, noisy room and down on the beautiful beach at 7am. Gutted to pay such a lot of money for this hotel. Would never stay there again.
