The Meltham Guesthouse Scarborough

Overall stay was pleasant and facilities were very clean. Just a few things which were not quite as we expected. We arrived Friday night to find the house completely locked up, with just a number to call. We rang 3-4 times over 15-20mins but no answer or call unable to connect. Thinking we needed to book elsewhere we went to leave, only then receiving a call with entry instructions. Room was clean and ready for us. With clear guidance on breakfast etc. however when we got to the room there was no breakfast. Confused we left and made our own arrangement's. Owner called us later in the day explaining we should have gone to a cafe Down or up the street, but this wasn’t clear on any signage. We also found the room quite cold, and heater wouldn’t come on, shower was also a dribble - impossible to wash long hair, and water temperature just about bearable cool luke warm. A shame as the location for us was perfect, other than that great weekend in scarborough. The idea of the concept for the arrangements are there but maybe better communication needed. Owner very friendly when we met him.

First time stay at the meltham guest house with my mum and daughter and we absolutely loved it! Lovely accommodation and absolutely 10/10 customer service! Catered too our every need and my daughter had fun in the games room! It was lovely , thanks alot Joe we will 100% be back!!!

Joe is so friendly and welcoming. Comfy and clean. Use of kitchen is handy and breakfast at North Bay Cafe was out of this world! Joe made sure my son had everything he needed to play pool and table tennis in the games room. What a great location and surprisingly quiet street too. Can’t wait to come back :)

Another wonderful stay at the Meltham, this time a long weekend for the scooter rally. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you might need for a night away. Joe the owner is very hospitable and friendly, we enjoyed chatting with him. The guest house is in a very quiet semi residential street with in a 15 minute walk of the town centre or a 10 minute walk of the north beach area ( theatre and Peasholm park) Not having breakfast provided isn’t a problem as there are some very good breakfast places at the top and bottom of the street ( a 2 minute walk) along with local shops. We hope to return soon.

Great place to stay in Scarborough,room was very nice and clean,ideally located with a 5 mins walk to the beach. Lovely chip shop on same street and a very nice park and lake very close by, our host Joseph was super helpful, would definately recommend this place.
