The Homestead

Staying at the Homestead was an incredible experience. Michelle was an amazing host: kind, generous, so helpful. The house itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean; I mean immaculate, which is really important to me. The house is so beautiful it should be on the register of historic places. Michelle made us delicious food and there was so much of it. The room was adorable, so wonderfully decorated and again, so clean, just spotless. And then to add to it, we went on a tour of the animal sanctuary. It was amazing. We met so many wonderful animals who are now living in peace and with love. Meeting them was magical. They are so sweet and loving. This was truly a perfect stay and certainly a vegan or animal lovers paradise. It is also a wonderful place to stay for anyone who wants a beautiful home and beautiful surroundings.

Writing this review 3 months after my husband and I stayed here in August. I had also visited for a tour with my best friend in May. I think about our time here fondly and often. Michelle Hodge is an incredibly gracious host! She made us feel like long-time friends coming for a visit! I have stayed at 5 rescues and this is by far my favorite! Michelle made wonderful breakfast foods and fabulous sweet goodies. The fridge was stocked with fresh fruit, yogurt, different non-dairy milks, bread....and so on. The homestead is so cozy and clean! The animals here are the friendliest bunch of critters I have ever encountered! I fell in love with this place! The staff and volunteers could not have been nicer! Cannot wait to visit again this Spring! Michelle, I'll be booking soon!!! Can't wait to come back up to see you and all the wonderful animals!
