My's Homestay

Crickets singing to make me fall asleep. Roosters crowing to wake me up. Enjoyed simple but delicious local food and making a toast with local liquor upon the breathtaking view. I had an extremely relaxing and soothing moment at My’s Homestay. What made my stay even more wonderful was the beautiful local family. The young couple Zu and Thong, and new born baby My was remarkably sweet and hospitable. My’s homestay was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Far away from the hustle and bustle of Sapa town, they are maintaining their accommodation in a pleasant and joyful way. Sometimes I felt the development of one village right below the Sapa town was too much. It didn’t look like a sustainable and right development based on the significant cultural value this region originally has. It is nothing but wasting of tourism resources. That was not my purpose of visiting northern mountainous region. My purpose of visiting was to experience all of those things that Zu and Thong are offering. That was the place I was looking for. Only two month after they opened their new accommodation, they had to close it for a while because of Covid-19. Now, they are rising and restarting their new life with a new born baby. How can we not support them to protect their lifestyle and culture in a respectable and dignified ways. If you would like to enjoy a breathtaking view of rice terraces in the dawn and twilight, My’s homestay is the place you will love. If you appreciate local culture and pleasant local meal, My’s homestay is the place you will be satisfied with. If you would love staying in a calm and soothing local home, then meeting and socializing with a beautiful local family, My’s homestay is the place you don’ want to miss. By any means, I want you to visit, taste and stay at this soul healing place. ここ、ミーズ・ホームステイでの滞在は、今回のベトナム滞在で最も快適で、心休まる体験となりました。この宿を運営する若い夫妻、ズーとトンは、宿泊客が快適に過ごせているか、いつも気にかけてくれました。一人旅の私としては、モン族の彼らとの交流はまさに、私がベトナム北部山岳地帯で経験したいと願っていたものでした。 渓谷の斜面に位置する、この宿からの眺めは素晴らしく、夜明け頃や夕暮れ時の景色は特に美しいものでした。客室は簡素ですが、清潔に保たれており、厚く寝心地の良いマットレスを備えています。主人のトンが作る郷土料理は、シンプルかつ優しい味で、とてもおいしいものでした。特に、豚肉とマッシュルーム炒め物を頂いたのですが、そのマッシュルームとはエノキ茸で、日本人としては非常に馴染みのある味で驚くと共に、彼らとの共通点を見つけられたことに嬉しく思いました。 ミーズ・ホームステイはサパの町から離れてはいますが、その分静かで、タヴァンやラオチャイなどの村の散策基点として、都合のよい立地です。近くの家に住んでいる子供たちが度々訪ねてきて、宿泊客と交流しているのも、とてもかわいらしいものでした。 夫妻が新しい宿の運営を始めてから僅か２か月で、コロナのために一時営業停止しなければならなかったそうです。いま、彼らはパンデミック中に生まれたお嬢さん、ミーと共に 再び立ち上がろうとしています。私の滞在記が少しでも彼らの役に立てばと思い、これを書いていますが、この宿の、この家族の素晴らしさを伝えるにはあまりに力不足です。 ベトナムの民族多様性や、彼らの文化と生活様式を尊重し、存続してほしいと願うのであれば、我々はミーズ・ホームステイの様な宿に滞在することで、彼らを支援するべきです。そのことを通して、某Ｃ村で見られるような、無尽蔵な観光開発による民族テーマパーク化ではなく、彼らの元来の姿こそが美しく、価値があるのだと再認識する現地の人も多いのではないでしょうか。これほど人に薦めたい宿はそうそうありません。ぜひ、訪れてください。

A lovely family welcomed my family for 3 days in September into there home. We had such a great time and enjoyed the trekking and magnificent meals cooked in the homestay. Really kind family who will help you with anything to ensure you have a great stay. We shared some good times in the evening with Local party games and learned about the local people and traditions Thank you so much!!

Amazing place of a lovely local family that made the house by themselves. If you want to live a real local experience in Sapa this is the best place. Astonishing view from the homestay. We recomend you to go on a hike organized by Thung. He explain a lot of interesting things about his tribe the black hmongs. Peaceful place in the middle of nature . All the family is amazing, they will help you and attend you in everything. Good food and breakfast. We stayed for 3 days but we would have loved to stay longer! 100% recomended ;)

We loved loved loved staying at My's Homestay. A pure gem in the Sapa region. My favourite experience in Vietnam. The family of 4, Zu and Thung (with adorable girls My and Vy) are an absolute delight and you immediately feel part of their family and village. They are teaching their daughters Vietnamese and English and there are lots of high-fives! We stayed for 2 nights in the lower rooms - 2 doubles with bathrooms, a family of 4 and we had an amazing time. The views of the paddy fields and rural activity from the balcony is so restful and stunning. We went on the day hike up into the villages and got to fullly experience the local culture, plants, customs and people. It was stinking hot, but we had lots of water and it was so worth it. We met with villagers making indigo dye, visted a wonderful bamboo forest and a welcome waterfall. The stories of life for the H'Mong people were probably the highlight. So interesting. These people are so genuine and offer an amazing experience outside of the touristy Sapa. Highly highly recommend.

On a passé deux soirées mémorables à my's homestay. Zu et Thung sont des hôtes au top. De plus Zu parle parfaitement anglais et c'est un plus si vous voulez poser des questions sur la région. On recommande fortement de passer par chez eux.

La familia es encantadora. Zu y Thung son muy atentos y sus hijas extrovertidas. Hicimos un día de trekking con Thung y aprendimos mucho sobre la cultura Hmong. La ruta es muy divertida y con vistas impresionantes entre arrozales y bosques de bambú. Zu nos facilitó mucho la estancia y nos gestionó el taxi de vuelta a Sapa. Solo nos alojamos una noche pero, después de nuestra estancia, recomendaríamos alojarse al menos dos noches. Súper recomendable.
