Artemis Santorini

Yes, the rooms are small and the marble can last for centuries, but the place captures the essence of Greece's islands. Artemis is on the main road that accesses the rest of Santorini, has its own pool and a short walk to the beach establishments. Elaina, the owner's daughter and hostess, is kind and considerate as well as hard-working. She suggested Alexander's for dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was great. So were the Ozu and desert. We went back several times. Mama's House in Fira was good too. Art Space, an art gallery and winery, is close to the hotel, just a few miles, and at another closeby winery we brought home a delightful preserves called Sweet Tomatoes. Again, the preserves were the essence of Greece. Don't go home without a jar of Sweet Tomatoes! Indeed, in Houston at our annual Greek Festival I was unable to find this 'essence' of Greece among the many Greek products for sale.

Sus duenos son de una amabilidad infinita. Siempre atentos y cordiales. Una ubicación donde se puede disfrutar de la tranquilidad. A menos de diez minutos de Thira y a un kilómetro de la playa y de un centrito de abastecimiento.

This was our second visit to Artemis (early June 24) and we are returning again in June 25. I love this hotel because it has everything you could want as a base to explore the island or just to have a day relaxing around the good sized pool. The vibrant resort of Kamari is only a short walk around the corner. There is easily accesible and ample parking nearby if you hire a car and also a great supermarket just around the corner on three floors that has everthing you could need (I needed blister plasters lol!) The hotel itself is so pretty. I love sitting outside on the restaurant balcony to have breakfast and enjoy the warm early morning sun surrounded by pink flowers. Breakfast is mainly continental with Toast and conserves, pastries, Yoghurt, honey and then hot scrambled eggs or Pizza slices and all the tea or coffee choices you could want. We found it ample for an included breakfast but I did sometime purchase a huge juicy peach from the supermarket to have with my yoghurt lol! The hotel faces East so you also get the most spectacular sunrises (better than the crowded sunsets at Oia) We were based in room 51 last June, and I would sit and watch the sunrise over the sea with a hot coffee every morning. Bliss! The two sisters who run the hotel are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, even providing a new kettle upon request so we could have a morning coffee in our room. They made sure we had an enjoyable stay..and last June coincided with my Birthday so they presented me with a lovely bottle of wine to help me celebrate. Kamari is a great base. It comes alive at night with superb bars and restaurants. There is a fabulous bus service to Thira if you don't hire a car. You can get a connecting bus to Oia from the main bus station at Thira (regular buses if not a little chaotic! lol!) I love this hotel and can't wait to come back in June (and hopefully have room 51 again ;D ) See you soon Artemis xx

Muy antiguo, la música en el cuarto no funciona, ¡¡¡SIN ASCENSOR!!! El baño super, extra, mega chico, sin cabina sólo cortina. Balcón sucio, lleno de hojas y tierra. Pedí factura por el impuesto que tuve que pagar, me dijeron después de 5 horas de haberla pedido con anterioridad, que la mandarían a mi mail y aún no le he recibido enmi mail. NADA RECOMENDABLE, IRRESPETUOSOS. Si no fuera tan complicado haría una denuncia al gobierno griego por trabajar en forma informal. ¡Desastre, jamás volveré!!

Een tamelijk klein en eenvoudig, ouderwets hotel met een prachtige tuin voor en een heerlijk zwembad achter. De kamer en badkamer waren oke, alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ik vond het heel huiselijk en voelde me op mijn gemak.

We loved everything about the hotel and we had a great holiday, but I too had an issue with my brand new Michael Kors sunglasses going missing, We moved rooms on the second day and I checked every drawer to make sure they were empty before we moved. The glasses case is very big so can’t really miss them in a drawer. We went back down to the room a couple of hours later as my husband had left his umbrella and the room had already been cleaned by the cleaner. The cleaner would have definitely noticed them if they had fallen on the floor as it had just been washed. I asked the owner if they had found them, but she said no and didn’t really seem too bothered. My husband said forget about it as it would spoil our holiday, so I did. It’s only because of the review below that I am mentioning it. Don’t get me wrong we had a great time, but it was a mystery especially as the cleaner hadn’t found them.
