Definitely worth the stay! It was a very clean hotel and exactly what we needed the night before we started our Camino. Alphonso was so helpful and wonderful communicating with me before my trip and fantastic on our late arrival! We are looking forward our return stay after our Camino.

Amazing hotel with great service!! This was our second time staying here. We stayed the night before we started our Camino and returned for 3 days after our Camino. It's just a few meters from the Camino, so very easy to get back on for our final walk to the Cathedral. The hotel is just a little outside the city center but an easy ride into town on the bus 6 from right in front of the hotel for only 1€. The hotel owners were AMAZING at helping us with everything!! They helped make sure we were on the right bus into town and back to the airport. Very friendly service. The room was lovely and exactly what we needed. Very clean rooms! Will most definitely stay here again on our return to Santiago de Compostela and the Camino!

This is a reasonably simple hotel but it worked perfectly for me. I got off flight to Santiago around 9 PM caught the bus towards Santiago de compostela, got off at San Marcos and the hotel was right there. I rang the bell and the woman checked me in. My room was simple but comfortable. WiFi tv and heat all worked well. Then I caught the bus to town from right out front in the morning. It worked great for what I wanted. Very quiet clean and no frills.

Es el lugar perfecto para descansar y seguir visitando la zona. Al estar tan bien situado vayas donde vayas queda bien de distancia así que es un punto muy a favor. El trato con el personal a sido genial. Las habitaciones son súper tranquilas y todo es súper genial. Si vuelvo a Galicia, vuelvo a Hotel Akelarre 100%

Mucha paz y tranquilidad,durante toda una semana. Trato estupendo con propietario. Comunicaciòn inmejorable con toda la ciudad y aeropuerto . Nos hubiera encantado continuar ,por lo menos diez dìas màs.

Todos fueron muy amables, nos ayudaron con las direcciones del lugar. Hotel está cerca de todo!! Súper recomendado Muchas gracias

I stayed last week with my wife at this splendid hotel. We have stayed several times at the Maria Cristina and decided to try something different this time. The Akelare Hotel is locates in a hill overlooking the ocean but just a 10 min ride from the city center. All rooms have an uninterrupted view of the ocean that changes in tones depending on the weather. You can even have a salt bath with that same view from your bathroom.The beautiful spa is another option.From the balcony of your room the only sound you hear is that of birds. The hotel architecture is reminiscent of a modern simple modern museum. Only tones of stone and ocre as decoration. The terraces are just unique: one is a cocktail bar, another a relaxing area, others serve as casual restaurant. All of the round terraces with share the amazing view of the ocean. The breakfast is prepared with produce from the area, not to mention eggs in any which way you want. Finally, I must say that the concierge service offered by Mr Abbou and Mr Vikeras was flawless. They organized our transfer from the Bilbao airport, tours of the area when we were taken to Azurmendi and they even packed bottles of wines for us for luggage transport. Never a no from their part and perfect suggestions as to tours and other nearby restaurants to visit. As to the Akelare restaurant, well they have three stars and this was our third visit. If you want to unwind, relax and eat well, this is the place to be in San Sebastián.
