Don Angel - Adults Recommended

I've always wanted to remain as a neutral in reviews and this one judging from previous reviews always make it hard to be neutral. Firstly it's location in Santa Sussnah is about an hour's drive north from Barcelona or Girona airport (lower cost carriers use Girona) factor that into that budget, because taxis aren't cheap or you're going to have make do with public transport, either book ahead or check the train apps before going. On arrival, be prepared, the staff don't speak much English, French or German and the reception is small and so they can get overwhelmed, this hotel loves to book events, I saw three dance, one martial arts and poker convention over the weekend, which puts the staff on high demand. Let's look at the room, it's incredibly basic, but I did get a balcony, a shower with disco lights, and a heated mirror BUT no where to hang towels, air conditioning-ish, and a shower with low water pressure and occasional hot water which was set to nuclear temperature, access to WiFi is clunky, needs ALL the details, including date of birth but it's good enough for Netflix and Spotify. The bed was very big, on the harder side and one sheet meant if the aircon stays on, it blows directly on your bed and will be cold. The cleaning team was quick and turned the room over every day to be fair. I took a full board package, and the food choice with any high people traffic resort was a buffet mass produced style, I was greeted with cold fried eggs, warm salads and fruit plus very very well done meat (although cooked fresh it's not nice to see the chef handling meat with his bear hands!) with all the eateries around, yet some fish, potato's and cheese boards were very good when they didn't run out! I'd take the breakfast and eat elsewhere, now the restaurant gets busy, the language barrier meant you end up with long queues and an empty restaurant, I think the staff were trying to stagger the queue but didn't this communicate this properly and lots of people were angry, this is where learning a bit of Spanish can save the day - I didn't know why signs were not used, plus the choice of drinks at lunch are water and water which tasted weird. Access to the beach is a five minute walk, there is an serious amount of choice when it comes to food, swimming pool is a highlight as the water park which they run as well. It's sad with a little bit of effort and thought for the customer, this could hit four circles but the restaurant chaos, and a quirky room - it just misses the mark, I can't really recommend it when there are so many other hotels to choose from they seem a better choice for a stay.

Una vergüenza de hotel!!! Este fin de semana, 21-22 y 23 de abril fuimos a un congreso de zumba. - Primero. El hotel nos obliga a pecnoctar dos noches. Al llegar nos encontramos que hay otro evento y sólo de una noche. La excusa es que ellos son un grupo minoritario. Perdón, pero creo que eso debería ser a la inversa. - Segundo. Llegamos a la sala del evento y estaba anegada de agua hasta la mitad de la sala. Excusas varias: la montaña está cerca, será de las pistas de petanca que hay encima (el agua salía a ras de suelo), será del nivel freático... La cuestión es que el último día escuchamos como les decían a las limpiadoras: "Prohibido usar agua, sólo hacer camas y barrer, hasta nueva orden". Las dos salas que utilizaron los del otro evento también se llenaron de agua. Tuvimos que hacer las actividades con un montón de mantas por todo el lateral de la sala para empapar el agua, lamentable. - Tercero. No pusieron aire acondicionado en la sala donde se realizaba la actividad, entre el agua y la cantidad de gente que había se formó muchísima condensación, con el peligro que esto suponía. Se pidió reiteradamente que se conectara, tardaron en conectar y solo una parte. El problema continuo hasta que se les aviso que sí sucedía algun accidente sería su responsabilidad, ante esto, finalmente lo conectaron. - Cuarto. Las eternas colas: colas para entrar al comedor, colas para encontrar mesa, colas para coger un simple plato para ponerte la comida. Colas para todo, absolutamente para todo, porque no tuvieron ninguna previsión de nada. La comida muy escueta, todo se acababa. Hasta nos llegaron a decir que no tenían tomates para el pan pq no les había llegado el pedido de frutas y verduras. Una vergüenza. - Sexto. Nos obligaron a dejar las habitaciones a las 10h, cuando normalmente en el resto de hoteles se dejan a las 12 h. Excusa: "es que la empresa de limpieza la tienen contratada sólo para el fin de semana y el siguiente fin de semana tienen más eventos". Eso sí, si pagabas podías dejarla a las 18 h. A veces, no ganar tanto hoy, hace que mañana puedas seguir comiendo de tu negocio. Quiero destacar que los trabajadores estuvieron trabajando a destajo día y noche, sacando agua continuamente. Daba pena verlos, peor que en la época de la esclavitud. El agua les llegaba por las rodillas, a diferencia del dueño, que no llega ni a la suela de los zapatos a ninguno de ellos, ya que no hizo nada por satisfacer a los clientes, sólo inventar excusas y de las malas. En fin, lo pasamos muy bien pq la gente que hizo el evento es maravillosa y sacan lo mejor de ti, hasta en los peores momentos. Me supo mal ver los nervios y los apuros que pasaron los organizadores que con tanto esfuerzo e ilusión lo montaron todo. Cuando ya nos volvíamos, el agua también estaba cayendo en las zonas comunes. Un desastre. JAMÁS vuelvo a allí. De mí no sé aprovechan más.

J'y suis allée pour la deuxième année consécutive et je ne suis jamais déçue par le personnel ou la chambre! La douche est magnifique, les lits très confortable et le balcon, la chambre est géniale ! Cependant, la restauration a certains défauts, notamment concernant le choix de plats proposés durant le séjour, pas très varié... Néanmoins, tout y est très agréable avec une salle de sport et un spa (à accès limité mais quand même) et des soirées régulières dans l'hôtel !
