Inn of the Turquoise Bear

Warm and gracious hospitality will be found at Inn of the Turquoise Bear.  This was apparent from the moment we booked and reinforced upon arrival.  The communication provided before and during our stay was tailored to ensure guest satisfaction, but not intrusive.  The grounds of this restored historic adobe inn are beautifully landscaped with outdoor seating areas for peaceful relaxation.  We visited in February and we were lucky that it was a sunny, warm day.  They had the gardens set to enjoy even in February!  We can’t wait to come back in Summer to enjoy them again!  The common rooms and our guest room were spotlessly clean, comfortable and furnished in authentic Santa Fe style.  It’s the care of their guests and attention to minute details that was truly remarkable.  Their breakfasts were delicious and they creatively accommodated my special dietary needs all 3 days of our stay!  We highly recommended this Inn for a very special stay in Santa Fe.

This was absolutely the best B and B experience we've ever had. Having enjoyed multiple experiences elsewhere in the US and Europe, most with a positive aspect in one of a few important categories, this was the first to excel in all. The reservation system and their ability to keep us informed as to the check-in policies, area adventures, restaurants, trails, day trips, etc. was exceptional. Our casita on the main level, detached from the main building was the perfect respite for us as a means to escape. The accommodation was exceptional, clean, well appointed and as comfortable as our own home. The most perfect part of our stay was the attention, kindness, warmth and guidance provided by the innkeepers, not only were they exceptionally well informed, helpful and always with a kind word and pure interest in our comfort. It was a truly wonderful feeling to step into the breakfast and seeing the open arms and ear to ear smile of Edith Salvidrez who became a good friend in a very short period of time. Her infectious personality and open heart made this truly a wonderful, personally fulfilling experience and one that has now set the standard for all others. Congratulations to the owners who clearly knew what it would take to make this one of the pre-eminent B and B's in the US, it was beyond our highest expectations.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful! We received several text messages ahead of our visit seeking our preferences. That was truly appreciated. The breakfast selections were numerous and delicious! We would definitely return. We also purchased their cookbook

We loved our 4-day stay at the "Bear".  We were visiting family in town and this was the perfect respite between family activities.  The weather was cool but we enjoyed the bright sunny days and we were even able to enjoy the patio areas and grounds in February!  We loved all the nooks and crannies of this authentic, historic estate.  Our room was comfortable, clean, with nice touches and amenities and we enjoyed spending time with other guests at the wine reception in the cozy living room.  We felt right at home.  Owner Dan and his team were most welcoming, and kindly checked regularly to ensure we were enjoying our stay and everything was to our liking.  The breakfasts were creative and lovingly prepared - a delicious start to the day.  This is an exceptional inn and we hope to return often.  Gives us an excuse to visit family more often!  Highly recommend it.

The Inn of the Turquoise Bear is our favorite part of visiting Santa Fe. We’ve stayed here four times over many years and look forward to the next time. We love their hospitality, the authentic historic architecture, lovely breakfasts, treats and wine social hour. The Innkeepers and staff are remarkably kind, attentive and personable. Their online guidebook of hikes, restaurants and activities is very helpful. The Inn has a rich story that sparks one’s imagination of past and present resident poets, artists, and writers. We love the feeling of living history in each of the comfortable and unique rooms. There is nowhere as exemplary of classic Santa Fe.

We stayed for four nights in the Witter Bynner room and were so pleased. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful from our arrival to our departure. The room was comfortable and spacious and we enjoyed learning about the history of the property and all the people who have stayed there. We were easily able to walk everywhere that we wished to go in Santa Fe from the property. Breakfast each morning was excellent - there were daily offerings alternating between savory and sweet, a buffet of fruits, yogurt, bread/pastries, and it was also possible to get eggs or huevos rancheros. The staff were very accommodating of any requests. We also looked forward to the daily sweet treats in the sitting area in the afternoons. I enjoyed the opportunity to converse with the other guests at breakfast at the communal dining table. Everyone there was pleasant and delightful and it was nice to hear about how others were spending their time in the area. The innkeepers have really created a lovely atmosphere.
