every accommodation in Cortina is expensive or overpriced, plus with all the road construction in preparation of Winter Olympics 2026, the entire town is a bit of a infrastructure nightmare. but I still wanted to stay somewhere near enough to Cortina to access the mountains passes and hiking trails enter San Vito di Cadore, 15 min south of Cortina, or specifically BW Hotel Nevada. it is odd to see a BW chain here in Dolomites, so i am not sure what is the backstory I booked the single room for 5 nights to explore East Dolomites. the room layout is a funny T-shape, with balcony, but strangely it works. it has comfortable bed, ample shelf space, a solid writing desk, a breakfast and kettle nook, and great shower. it is also very clean. breakfast is available either as part of room rate or ala carte. because I am out and about very early everyday, i decided not to take the option. there is Conad supermarket 5 min walk away, along with some patisserie stores. opposite the hotel are some sports and outdoor gear stores if you need to buy something. wifi is fast. it is true that the hotel parking is not onsite. the parking lot is located about 5 min walk away on a flat grass land or you can also park at the adjacent school parking lot everything is perfect. I couldn't have ask for better.
