Heliconias nature Inn and Hot Springs

While the staff was lovely and the grounds were beautiful, this is pretty far away from most things you’d want to do in Arenal. It’s a good 20-25 minutes to town and another 10-15 to Arenal National Park, La Fortuna Waterfall etc. There wasn’t a ton to do on the property (some small pools that they need to heat), so it’s a bit of a trip to get to things. Definitely rent a car if you’re going!

Heliconias Nature Lodge is my home away from home! It is family owned and operated. The grounds are paradise and the food is excellent. The staff goes above and beyond, and they treat you like family! Their karaoke is so much fun and Diego and Brandon have amazing voices. The service from Alejandro is platinum! If you want to experience the rainforest of Costa Rica, I would highly recommend this place of paradise! These are luxury tree houses and bungalows that are surrounded by Costa Rica’s natural habits such as sloths, monkeys, Toucans, frogs, Parrots and many more. You will not be disappointed if you love living with nature. They also have hot springs, football ( American soccer) field, pool, restaurant and nature trails. This is a must for a relaxing vacation, but there is plenty to do just 20 minutes away such as whitewater rafting, hiking, shopping and much more.

My family had a magical stay. The resort is about 25 minutes away from hustle and bustle of La Fortuna, and it was easy to find with Waze. The owner and his family are very welcoming and knowledgeable - we were given excellent service and recommendations for activities. But the grounds themselves were the highlight for us. At every turn we found another delight - a sweet young goat greeted us at the entrance, a sloth reposed in a tree right outside reception, and rooms are named after local animals rather than numbered. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, which was perfect for a family of four. My children especially loved the hammocks and the friendly cat that adopted them. We spent a fun morning splashing in the pool, which was clean and warm. The hot springs were a lovely place to soak and let the stress melt away. In the end, no one wanted to leave - three nights felt like too short of a stay!

My friend and I just completed our stay here and it was beyond wonderful! The hospitality was top notch. I can tell extreme pride is taken in everything they do. The complimentary breakfast was DELISH and the land was beyond beautiful and well kept. Max amount of stars from us! Last but not least, Alejandro and Diego will make you feel like their favorite guests ever!

This is a magical resort with amazing staff. We were welcomed with open arms and Diego made the check in super easy. Once we got to the room there was the coolest surprise waiting since it was my 50th birthday! The treehouse was literally like living alone in the jungle but with all the facilities you could want near by. Every morning we saw green cheeked parakeets from our window, toucans and lots of other endemic birds. The staff set up all of the tours we wanted to do including transportation. And when we had to be picked up early they always accommodated us for a huge breakfast! Jimmy was one of our new buddies as he helped with breakfast in the morning and also took us on a night tour where we saw a kinkajou, spectacle owl, and lots of frogs . He was super knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and it was an amazing tour. For dinner, the food was out of this world!!! If I could rate it a 10 I would!! A huge thank you to the entire staff . Hopefully we will be back one day!

This treehouse was absolutely stunning. It was located further from La Fortuna than I expected but it was worth the drive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My kids and I took a nature walk provided by the facility and it was beautiful. I would have preferred the bar and hot springs to be open at the times they stayed but it was still a cool experience.

We stayed in the deluxe bungalow and it was so lovely. Hammocks out on the deck and very secluded at the hummingbird bungalow. The whole property is beautiful. They have walking paths through the manicured jungle they’ve created to your bungalow or tree house, the pool, the hot springs, and the restaurant. The restaurant on the property is sooo good! Everything we ate was so good and we ate there for breakfast and dinner every night. It is a 20 min-30 min drive to most of the adventures we did: ziplining, canyoning, white water rafting. The owner and his son were so kind. We loved getting to know them and really loved their property! Would be such a cool spot for a destination wedding. They have a beautiful gazebo area!

Gorgeous property. Very close to all the activities at La Fortuna. Very fun and/or romantic location for couples and families. The vibrant sounds of nature from every location on the property including every guest patio, the restaurant, pool, bar and hot pots. The owner, his son and all the staff are very kind and hard working. The restaurant is the best food in the area.

We spent 3 nights in standard Treehouse 1 and loved it. The treehouse is unique and cozy with a nice hotel t shower and comfortable beds. We saw toucans from our windows. The resort itself is widespread making it never feel crowded. In fact, we rarely had to share a hot spring with anyone! Jimmy was extremely helpful getting us an early breakfast one morning before we headed out! The grounds are beautifully maintained . The staff went the extra mile by decorating our son’s room for his 13th birthday!
