Eco Hotel Rio de Oro

I discovered Rio de Oro Eco Hotel during a buggy tour around San Rafael with @rioxplora. Our guide was Nik — super professional and a great guy. The tour was awesome: rough trails, rivers, stunning views. Everything was well organized. After the ride, we went down to check out the hotel, and I was honestly impressed. It’s a luxury hotel right in the middle of nature — great design, peaceful vibe, and very well built. It’s really cool to see something this high-end in such a remote, natural spot. Perfect place to relax in comfort. What really stood out was the service. I accidentally left a pair of expensive sunglasses at the hotel. I called them, they checked the security cameras, found them, and had them delivered to the hotel I was staying at — nearly an hour away. I haven’t seen that kind of service even in the U.S. or Europe. Serious people, professional, and really customer-focused. Highly recommended.

La habitación excelente, solo extrañamos un poco agua caliente. El entorno es espectacular, el tour maravilloso y ojalá durará 3 horas. Jefferson, Nike y los demás son excelentes anfitriones y lo mejor, la comida.

Una experiencia completa, desde la llegada hasta el último momento que se encuentra en el hotel. Instalaciones: Excelentes, muy agradables, con mucho confort. El entorno es espectacular. Comida: La gastronomía es excelente, todo lo que probé estuvo delicioso. Personal: Lo mejor que tiene el hotel. Excelente servicio, que calidad de equipo el que tienen.

We stayed two nights in one of the standard rooms (not cabanas). The room seemed new. Very comfortable. Jacuzzi on the balcony. Large bathroom and shower. One detail I appreciated is there are lots of drinks and snacks for purchase, and they’re not marked up in price to gauge the guests. They provide free rides to take you into San Rafael which is awesome. It’s like 25,000 COP for a moto raton to bring you back. The food was excellent. Decent variety on the menu. Breakfast dishes were fabulous. Loved their pasta options. They have a daily tour at 10am to visit a waterfall and then walk up the river to a small charco where we did an exfoliating treatment with chocolate which was fun. Also, the actual charcos and river is very very calm. There are strong currents like around other pueblos. Suitable for children. Another thing, check out is 1pm. I think this is so you can comfortably go on the 10am tour. You can also enjoy the property and amenities throughout the following day of your stay. Just a very practical, considerate approach to ensuring their customers get the most out of their experience. I’ll remember this place for restoring faith in providing good customer service and prioritizing their customers’ experience. I highly recommend and I hope to be back some day.

Excelente servicio, el personal es muy atento, la cabaña excelente y además los planes adicionales, caminatas, touring, masajes... Excelente servicio y el lugar.

Todo espectacular, más de lo que se ve en redes, las cabañas super amplias, la atención 100/10, la comida 100/10 un menú super amplio y todo delicioso
