Orchid House San Miguel de Allende

Everything was fine!

Only six rooms surrounding a lovely courtyard. Our breakfast was cooked for us each morning, including fresh fruit and eggs to order. The location is great-- a short way from the main plaza, where we went each evening to hear mariachi bands. Our room was spacious. Only complaint: the bedside tables were too low and there was a reading lamp on only one side of the bed. The staff was very helpful-- arranged cabs and rides for us and made a great restaurant suggestion. Saturday night there were muffled drum beats from the disco a couple of doors down, but the rest of the week it was very quiet.

My boyfriend and I stayed for eight nights. This boutique hotel with only five rooms was stunning. The complementary breakfast in the kitchen was lovely and felt like home (with better food, of course). It felt like we had our own private chef. During the weekday nights the room was very quiet. The property is conveniently located in Centro which makes it super easy to get wherever you want to go. It can also mean there is sometimes noise. There is a club a few doors down that is open on Friday and Saturday nights. It was loud those nights, as other reviews indicate, but earplugs were provided in our room and the main window in our room was newly put in to create as much sound proofing as possible. We were sure to keep the ceiling fan and air conditioner on to try to drown out the noise those nights. Keeping the bathroom door closed on weekend nights also helped as there was a skylight in the bathroom that seemed to be where the noise crept through. The room itself was beautiful with stone walls and super high ceilings. It overlooked a large back garden area. It was the standard Queen room and we loved it. It was very well appointed to make the space very useable. Our room was cleaned daily. The WiFi was very reliable. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this property for a romantic getaway or family trip.
