Hotel Victoriano

This is an attractive-looking hotel in a great location near the beach, restaurants, and markets. The security guard/doorman was nice and carried our heavy suitcase up for us. However, otherwise, the service is not the friendliest. No one ever showed up to straighten the room or take out the one tiny trashcan meant to hold used toilet paper and all additional garbage. Though we tried to be careful, it's a beach town and sand accumulates, so we ended up having to mop the floors with a hand towel. Our room had thick concrete walls that the wifi couldn't penetrate. Unlike many hotels in Nicaragua, the Victoriano doesn't have a clean water dispenser for guests to refill their water bottles. They did give us bottled water at check in, but since they never cleaned the room, they also didn't replenish the water, so we ended up buying more bottled water in town. Most everything I could shrug off, but if you don't want us flushing toilet paper, you have to empty the trash bin every day, and there ought to be a separate bin for regular garbage.

There aren’t a lot of nice hotels to choose from in San Juan Del Sur. This one looked nicer than most. The building is from the early 1900’s and I could swear it hasn’t been remodeled since it was built It could definitely do with a refurbish. Made of wood, there is a damp wood smell throughout and the floors creak when walked on. It’s located directly across the Main Street from the beach, but only one room has this view. The rest of the rooms are off the main courtyard. There is air conditioning in the room only (thankfully), but once you leave your room you’re exposed to the awful heat and humidity. Our room came with breakfast, and there were several choices. The food was good, but they only had coffee, no black tea so be sure to bring your own if you are a tea drinker. They will give you a cup of hot water. The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast area has a nice view if you ignore the multitude of electrical wires blocking the sight line to the beach. But because it’s outside it’s dreadfully hot. They don’t even have ceiling fans. This minor addition would help a bit to cool it off. Also, unfortunately the bed was not comfortable and they never once came to clean our room. We had to ask for clean towels daily. I’m giving the hotel a 3 because of the easy walk to surrounding businesses and the beach nearby. However, if I were to return I would probably look for an Airbnb or try another hotel.

Chambre sans fenêtre ni miroir à la salle de bain.Du jamais vu pour moi. De plus cette chambre était pour handicapé. J’ai demandé de changer de chambre,on m’a répondu que l’hôtel était complet. Vu le nombre de personnes aux petit déjeuner je ne pense pas que cela était vrai.

Es un hotel magnífico si ubicacion es perfecta y el desayuno delicioso, aire acondicionado en perfecto estado, no hay molestia del personal, siempre atento y fueron muy amables en todo momento, la limpieza fie excelente

This hotel is beautiful. The view is the best part about staying at this hotel. We booked a room with a king size bed. The room was small. They did have hot water! If you left the shower water run too heavy then the water would start to leak into the bedroom. Not realizing this would happen, I had to put towels down on the floor to keep the water from flooding the bedroom. Reception/front desk leaves early. I tried calling, but no answer. The AC worked well. Overall, I would stay there again.

Beautiful hotel. Absolutely the best staff at the front desk… Heidi, you are awesome!! Breakfast and bar staff, very attentive, such a pleasure. Had a full breakfast included in the price..spa treatments also available

I have stayed at this hotel at least 30 times at a average price of $100 per Night. I recently asked for a new reservation and was stunned with a new price per night of $200. According to the reservation desk the new price hike is new management. WOW!! Let me tell you. The price increase is not worth it. Still the worst breakfast in San Juan. Service is not the best and the music at the pool is the worst selection. Plus you have a neighbor that plays Nicaragua revolutionary music out loud all day and all night, making your sleep accommodation a bad experience.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of original details. The hotel looks out over the sea and the beach. There is a perfect sunset every evening, which you can enjoy from a number of different places on the hotel premises. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms with good functioning AC, nice pool and delicious breakfast. This place is a (relatively) quiet spot in the middle of busy San Juan. I loved it!
