"I stayed at the Mustafa Hotel in Samarkand. It just opened this year—everything is brand new, fresh, and works perfectly. I loved everything. What I'd like to highlight: 1. The hotel itself is very beautiful and modern. The interior is thoughtfully designed down to the last detail—stylish and tasteful, you can tell they put a lot of thought into it. It's a pleasure to be in the lobby, rooms, and common areas. It's not just "canteen-style" cleanliness, but truly beautiful design. 2. The pool is excellent. A big plus for Samarkand—after a long day of walking in the heat, it's so nice to take a dip. The pool is clean, well-maintained, with a comfortable seating area around it. 3. Everything is new. Since the hotel opened this year, there's no worn-out furniture, no scuffed surfaces, no limescale-covered plumbing. Everything works like clockwork. This is a huge plus that outweighs many other points. 4. The hotel is modern yet cozy. Not a huge, faceless "concrete box," but a neat, well-thought-out option for a comfortable stay. Overall, if you want to stay in a truly new, beautiful hotel with a great pool and stylish interior, Mustafa Hotel is an excellent choice. I was very pleased."

HOTEL SULTAN PALACE

"We were at a big conference at the Expo Center; the 5 star hotels at he site were too expensive, so we went to Sultan PALACE Hotel near the airport (note there is a different hotel called Sultan). A kind of Disney-esque architecture for a new hotel. A modest breakfast is included. Pro: Very kind staff, especially the manager and the tall slender young man. Helpful and friendly, made us feel truly welcome. Con: Location a food desert. Restaurant there breakfast only, and nothing to walk to (I tried). So they have menus from a few local places and will order for you and present on their dishes when the food comes in. Otherwise you need to taxi to go anywhere else."

"The hotel left a mixed impression: 1. One of the positives is that everything in the hotel is new; the rooms are well-equipped, with a shower featuring a thermostat and display, bathrobes, a TV with Android TV and YouTube, a refrigerator, and a kettle 2. Free unlimited bottled drinking water at the hotel entrance. 3. The hotel is too close to the road; you can hear it even in the bathroom. There is no soundproofing, so if you’re a light sleeper, be prepared for a sleepless night. 4. Breakfasts are modest, with practically no choice, but the food is quite filling. 5. The shower drain doesn't work very well; while you're showering, you end up standing ankle-deep in water because the dirty water barely drains away. 6. The toilet paper is the cheapest kind; I wish the hotel wouldn’t skimp on the little things. 7. The room isn’t cleaned well; after cleaning, the floor was dirtier than before. 8. It’s a 20-minute walk to the nearest attractions, but the road isn’t lit late at night."

"No hairdryer was provided, and the towels and bath towels looked very old and somewhat unclean. There was no cleaning service for three days, especially for the bathroom. The room was tiny, and the main door was difficult to open or lock. Samarkand had already canceled the tourist tax when I checked in, but the host still charged it, which was speechless. The breakfast was not good. Overall, only the front desk guy was friendly, and you can walk to Registan Square, but the room's hardware is a major drawback."

"We really appreciate the hospitality of this hotel. We arrived at midnight and they gave us a room very quickly so that we were able to take a good rest after a late night train. Though we only booked one night, they again allowed us to wait at their lobby until our night train leaving Samarkand arrived. We are more than happy to stay at this hotel."
