We love Saltburn by the Sea and have stayed at Brockley Hall a few times. This visit was disappointing. For the room prices you could at least provide beautiful linens for the bed instead of the shabby chewing gum white bedding that we had. The pillows were all lumpy and none of the pillowcases matched, all creased up. Its not ok to cover the bed with a throw and think that will do. I wouldn't use that bedding at home it was so worn and shabby! The hotel is in need of a deep clean especially the sitting rooms where all the decoration, lights and general bric a brac is displayed. Just too much stuff... Breakfast was nice but rather a haphazard experience with waiters rushing around and constantly bringing things to the table, not very relaxing. The staff were friendly. Outside garden area needs sweeping/pots tidying up etc. You can do better.

Do not waste your money at this hotel - unprofessional rude arrogant manager - could be a lovely hotel the food was excellent - the staff busy but polite - however the manager lets the whole place down - turns any complaint into an insult and throws terrible accusations at you ie., your trying to get a free meal - a free stay - your drunk, your argumentative and rude. Untrained staff especially those in a managerial role usually do not know how to handle a complaint and resort to this type of attitude - the owner should get rid of this lady ASAP before she ruins his/her bussiness

Perfect night away to celebrate a birthday. Room 35, “Huntcliff” was out of this world. Opulent but cosy. The bath, the beautiful bed, the gorgeous wallpaper and the double shower were just wow! Our meal was a mixture of a la carte and brasserie. Dish of the evening was the passion fruit soufflé. Breakfast next morning was also lovely. The staff are really professional, warm and welcoming. The service was attentive, friendly and not at all intrusive. Saltburn is very lucky! Brockley Hall Hotel is a beautiful addition to the town.

A lovely, quirky hotel in a great location with easy parking: The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the cliff tram, beach, shops and the Valley Gardens. Our rooms, over the front windows, were lovely with a state of the art shower (with lights and a radio) and a free-standing bath. The hotel decor was an amazing spectacle! The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Our only disappointment was the ‘fish and fizz’ menu. It was exceptionally well priced at £39,99 for two people and included a hearty sized fillet of fish and chips, plus a glass of Prosecco each. Unfortunately the fish’s batter was soggy on the inside and it was noticeable that, after eating, the diners’ plates were being taken away with piles of batter on the otherwise empty plates. My recommendation is: definitely stay at this wonderful hotel, it is truly amazing, but choose something other than fish and chips from the menu, which has lots of choice that did not disappoint.

Lovely warm welcome to a really fabulous hotel. Great bar area our number 11 room was really quite something breakfast was perfect. Staff were warm and accommodating especially Sue on our arrival and leaving. Look forward to a return visit.

First impressions - such as the grizzly bear (not real!) and vintage radiogram in reception, and the florid décor - might not be everyone's cup of tea, but give this excellent hotel a chance. In its own way, it has charm and character. Check-in was friendly and easy (as was check-out). Our pleasant room was light, spacious, comfy beds and, like the rest of the place, faultlessly clean. Nice garden, and overall in an excellent, quiet position, merely yards from the main promenade. We secured a web-deal via a third party, and saved considerably on the (somewhat high) regular price. Breakfast (included) was interesting in as much as everything is served at table, even cereals, yogurts, fruit, etc. This is a great idea, as it cuts down on waste, and is all rather civilised. I mixed and matched from the cooked menu, and it was great, good choice, top quality, and beautifully presented. Breakfast room staff totally excellent. We felt really at home at Brockley. Well done to the whole team.

Not really up to 4 star standard: The breakfast service is odd - the standard method of self service for cereals and fruit would improve their system in my opinion. The evening meals were a disappointment and the staff seemed not to be sure of how to serve customers!
