Hotel Olympus Palace

This is my second time staying at Olympus palace in Salou -great location and loads of nice restaurants nearby -we did bed and breakfast and great selection of buffet breakfast.

Pros & cons Pro - Pools are nice - Great location - Hotel is clean - Some staff are polite (some) - Air-con is good Cons - The elderly are very disrespectful towards the younger generation, for example, pushing in-front of me and my partner, staring & looking down on you to the point I actually cried because of how rude they were, an old lady told me off for moving my sunlounger and then proceeded to move hers - It’s one rule for one and one for the other. We were told no reserving sun-loungers. Me and my partner went on a walk after dinner, we were an hour tops, we came back and our towels were no where to be seen. When we asked why our towels had been moved the lady at the bar said that we were not allowed to reserve them, I would say 75% of the sun-loungers had no one them. I felt like we had been targeted as we were a young British couple. We then had no where to go, as paying guests to the hotel and to not have anywhere to lie round the pool? We asked reception if there was anymore sunloungers and they just shook their heads, I don’t understand why a hotel with 5 floors doesn’t have enough sunloungers for their paying customers to use?? - Me and my partner were half board, no drinks were included therefore, we bought a water from the shop to drink around the pool, the bar staff then came up to us and handed us a piece of paper saying no drinks allowed unless from the hotel. I then spoke to a family that were English, they said no one had hassled them for eating and drinking their own snacks around the pool, which once again made me and my partner feel targeted & victimised - The food - Breakfast was good, Tea however was not the best, we got burgers one night, cut into the burger and it was raw. - No sunglasses are allowed in the pool ( unless your Spanish) I seen the lifeguard tell another couple off for wearing sunglasses in the pool and then blatantly ignored a spanish couple who were wearing sunglasses. - Entertainment was just ok - When checking out the receptionist didn’t bother asking if we had enjoyed our stay. - Would I recommend this hotel? For the location yes. For younger couples? No as we did not feel welcome at any point I would suggest going elsewhere

1st of all we were put in a room with hardly no light. Room 102. Behind a massive tree so no sun on balcony anytime. Food was the same lunch and dinner. Definitely for the over 60s which wasn't an issue but when the restaurant opened it was like a cattle market. No manners what so ever. We stayed 10 days and never got a bed at the pool as they were reserved from early morning. Upstairs on the roof the same so 1 day we put a towel down before lunch..came bk and someone had put a not allowed to reserve sunbeds sign on our towels . What a fu**ing cheek. The only day 2 were free. Not 1 sign was give out in the 9 days that we saw. Rooms very small. Staff hit and miss but cleaners maybe not round to 2 or 3pm. The only positives were u cud swap dinner for lunch to allow u to eat out and the location. Would I stay again??? No simply because I thought the older generation had more manners but ignorance came in abundance.

Les + Hotel bien situé, prox plage, bars, shopping. Infrastructure renovee. Chambre avec literie confortable. Un service correct et gentil aux restos et bars. Pension complete sous forme de buffet: Bon un peu repetitif. Les - Je vous conseille de bien suivre les ‘regles’ de l hotel sinon on se gene pas de vous réprimander. Quelques exemples : il est INTERDIT d aller dans la piscine avec vos lunettes de soleil (alors qu on sert les boissons autour de la piscine dans des verres en verre!), il est interdit de se mettre de la creme solaire si vous etes assis dans les fauteuils du rooftop, attention: si vous empruntez des essuies de plage, on vous remet une petite carte. Ne la perdez pas sinon, vous ne récupérez pas votre caution (meme si vous rendez les essuies). Si vous desirez une place a la piscine en cours de journee.. ben .. y a pas … Enfin.. si vous etes bien discipliné , ca va aller…… Ps1: A savoir, le parking coute 13€ par jour. Ps2 : Batiment a 6 etages, +de 200 chambres… 2 ascenseurs.. soyez patients aux heures de pointe… Dommage ca aurait pu etre super…
