This is our second visit to Al Baleed Resort Anantara. The resort has improved consistently and all areas from amenities to guest service. We found the staff to be truly outstanding, a notch up from our stay in 2017. We've never felt so well attended to and taken care of, simply the best service we have ever experienced in a 5-star hotel. The beach location is outstanding. The sea is rough but so clean and invigorating. The restaurants are all exquisite, with a definite edge for the Asian Mekong. Special mention to the Thai Sous-Chef of Mekong, Pitchapha. Your Vietnamese Pho is the very best I have had so far and your pomelo salad is outstanding. Many thanks to all the Sakalan staff, namely but not exclusively, Yashi, Yuli, Asad, Maribel, Genn, Made, Arafat and Laxman for their friendliness and dedication. Special thanks to the beach staff, namely but not exclusively Ali. We are most grateful to the front-office or reservations manager, Pratib (I apologise for any misspelling) who went to great lengths to find us a satisfactory solution after the AC of our twin-bed room broke down. We are generally not fan of spas; this is not our cup of tea. However, my wife, was exhausted from her work as a therapist and needed an energy boost. Kudos to Virginie for the quality of her massage. If your intention was to make us come back, you've won! We will definitely come back. Warm regards to all the staff.
