The Albany Apartments

Amazing spacious apartment. Beautiful decor and very comfortable furnishings including beds. The attention to detail is exemplary and clearly the owners and the team around them take great pride in the place. Plenty of parking if needed and lovely grounds. In my opinion this should be 5* accommodation. It truly is a great place to stay.

After taking a temporary professional work position in Guernsey (early May) I travelled alone, and away from my family. This was an exciting but anxious time for me a female in unfamiliar territory. I have been accommodated at The Albany Apartments since my arrival and have to say I would recommend this place to my closest family and dearest friends. The facilities are excellent (from the guest laundry to the immaculate gardens and pool), the service from the onsite manager and other staff has been so welcoming and helpful. I really do not have any complaints from my experience here. It is one of the cleanest establishments I have stayed in over the years, and nothing is any trouble and sorted very quickly! (The TV signal was poor on my arrival - they replaced the TV and sorted the issue within 24 hours). I have seen families here who clearly enjoy the well kept grounds and pool, and it has been a pleasure reading all the books available, in the sumptuous interior that also has a pool table and small children's play room. It is local to the town of St Peter Port, all bus routes and I have ventured around the island on the friendly efficient bus service, seeing amazing beaches, interesting landmarks and the colour of the flora / palm trees and yachts in the harbour. What more can I say? I would like to stay on longer if my contract is extended. Thank you Albany Apartments :-)

Very comfortable and well appointed Apartments and the staff are very welcoming. Handy to walk into the Town and on main bus routes. The only downside was a very noisy dog in one of the nearby gardens most evenings which spoiled our enjoyment.

We stayed here at the end of September for a week. Our apartment was a 2 storey house, with a balcony for the lounge overlooking the garden and pool. It was very well equipped and comfortable. We had a superking bed in the main bedroom which was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly abd went above and beyond when we left our medication behind on the day we keft, they got it to the airport ready for when we arrived to check in. It is uphill from the harbour but there is a bus stop nearby.

Ideally located for a 20min walk to town, but ample off-street parking. Many buses serve the stop 2 mins around the corner, 75p per trip on a puffin pass. Well-appointed apartment (no.20), whose balcony overlooks pool and garden. Two floors, everything we could ever need was provided, Inc washing up liquid and cloths. Fantastic level of cleanliness, beds super comfortable, skylights in the second bedroom provided good ventilation. Pool table and cozy kids playroom in lobby was a great addition for any dull days. The pool itself was clean and of a good temperature, no trouble whatsoever with finding a sun lounger, plenty of deck chairs too. There's no reserving loungers with towels here ;-) Outside space felt very Mediterranean, palm trees, whitewashed walls etc. Owner resolved an issue with builders turning up unannounced and making noise with speed and firmness which saw them disappear. We could ask no more of the management, they were fabulous. We will be back, our first choice of accommodation on Guernsey. Thank you so much

Nightmare holiday in Pugin-Wing 21 We arrived late as the ferry was delayed. The apartment complex is only a few minutes away from the ferry dock. That is positive. But then it already ends. The lady of the house greeted us in a friendly manner and took us to the flat. Already in the entrance we were greeted by an unpleasant smell, which came from a fragrance diffuser plugged into the socket in the hallway. She briefly showed us the folder with the things that were important and left us alone. Shortly after clearing it out, I had my first asthma attack. My lungs felt constricted and I had no air to breathe. We unplugged the atomiser for the time being. Most of the carpets were dirty and stained from previous occupants (see pictures). Especially in the bedrooms the ventilation situation is bad. In the children's bedroom there were two small skylights that could only be opened by a long bar. The frames of the windows were totally mouldy. Obviously water damage from previous years. The furniture in the rooms was sticky. The bedding was made of cheap polyester. After just one hour in bed, we were itching all over. I had to take my emergency spray for my asthma several times during the night and felt more than bad. Anyone who has ever been unable to breathe knows this feeling. After a long night of waking, we tried to make breakfast in the morning. 4 plates, three of them were dirty, 4 cups, 4 of them were also dirty, disgusting pots and pans, which were not washed and the traces of the previous ones could be seen here as well. Wet stains in the cupboard. All in all, an unacceptable condition for us, above all my health took precedence here. We went to the neighbouring hotel and described our situation. The reception manager Nelly immediately offered us help and made everything possible so that we could have a nice last week's holiday. As the Albany self-catering reception was not manned on Sunday morning, we left our keys in a bowl in the entrance hall. A query by the manager Tracey unfortunately resulted in no concession for us. A lack of understanding for my situation, she being allergic and asthmatic herself and having no problems there, was the last straw for me. Admittedly, we did not want to offer any possibility of rectification. For us, the circumstances were unacceptable. We did not receive a credit note, not even for one day. We can only warn everyone about this. Nothing here really corresponds to a four-star standard. It's a pity for so little humanity.
