Worst experience I’ve had in my many years of travelling
We checked in late as we had a reservation at a restaurant for my friends birthday so we dropped our bags and got straight in a taxi. As we were leaving the staff told us the reception was closing which I thought was strange as it’s a hotel what if you need something?
Upon our return to the hotel we realised there was no security at the gate and our taxi driver had to get out to physically open the gate
We booked to stay in a villa with private pool but the villa clearly hadn’t been cleaned in weeks there was dust and spiders everywhere Literally 100’s of tiny spiders in the beds under the sheets and throughout the whole villa

Dead cockroaches in the living area
Lizard poop on the headboards and the chairs it was just gross a huge centipede even made an appearance
As soon as we realised the state of the villa we tried to contact the number provided by trip but of course there was no answer as all the staff had left the premises. I let trip know we had to leave because we felt unsafe and that the villa was too unsanitary for us to even sit in.
The villa didn’t have curtains for all the windows so you could see everything from outside
And because there were no lights on outside the villa (we had to use our phone light to see the path) you wouldn’t know if anyone was standing outside looking in as they would literally be covered by the darkness
Very sketchy and unsafe especially when there is no staff or security on site
As a woman this is beyond concerning
We returned in the morning at around 10 to drop the key and make a complaint
I gave them my details and was told management would be in contact
There wasn’t an apology or an ounce of care from Annika who heard my first official complaint
I was in communication with trip who said they would contact the hotel, investigate and get back to me. The staff at the hotel told trip I hadn’t made any effort to contact the staff at the time of my findings or when checking out.
How was I supposed to report to staff that aren’t on the premises? And claiming we didn’t make a complaint when we checked out tells me they simply threw out my complaint and my details as soon as we left the building.
We went back to the hotel that afternoon. We were told by Kimberly that if we didn’t stay in the hotel then we would be eligible for a refund. I have this on video recording because at this point we know the staff aren’t telling the truth and would most likely claim they didn’t say so. We said that’s fine there will be cctv footage of us coming in and leaving within 45 mins max and returning the next day to officially check out.
We were given a number to contact, we requested the CCTV footage and haven’t received it as they clearly don’t wish to give us the proof we would need to get a refund.
Despite making a third complaint with all the proof they have refused to refund me and have instead offered us to stay again… as if anyone would want to return after being treated so poorly and traumatised by the bug infestations and utter lack of safety on site.
The hotel is unsafe. Having a hotel of that size with no staff and no security is a recipe for disaster
The staff are rude and untruthful and I still haven’t received a refund
Disappointing doesn’t even cover it they ruined my friends 30th birthday and due to this experience I doubt I would try to stay at another Wyndham resort or hotel again

I found this very strange. Having a card on file or charging a deposit is a normal but this made me feel wary
Luckily when I checked out and requested the paper back it was given with no issues but still very sketchy I have already reported to my bank just incase
