We arrived late on Friday night, the welcome from Lou was lovely. The rooms are clean, fresh and modern looking. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for a good day walking to Frenchman’s creek and Helford. On return we saw staff having to deal with a very difficult customer and recognised how hard they work each day. Would recommend to anyone.

We we´re staying in a B&B in Porthallow for one night while walking the south west coastal path. The Five Pilchards was our only option for the evening, and it was a great evening. Unfortunately the pub doesn´t offer meals at present due to staff shortages but they supplied us with pasties and pints and sausage rolls. We had a lovely evening and a great chat with the landlady.

Popped in with fam and hound after a long walk. Canny lad behind the bar was attentive and very helpful, and even gave us info on points of interest locally. Lovely pint of cider and pasty. Will return again this week. Many thanks

We arrived tired and wet after a long day walking the SW coast path. We could not fault the hospitality we received from all the staff and in particular Louise. We had a lovely room with large comfortable bed, clean and modern facilities, great en suite and everything we needed. Fabulous breakfast and a takeaway pastie helped us on our way the next day. We would love to go back. Very highly recommended.

Love this little village and pub. The seaside pub was wonderful, the room was spacious, very clean and with a fantastic ocean view. We enjoyed a great cornish beer in the evening sunshine and, following a great nights sleep, a tasty breakfast suited to a big appetite 😀 and also happily catered for a fussy, gluten free vegetarian. Thanks to Lou and her team we had a lovely stay at the five pilchards.

Quaint authentic Cornish inn, outstanding views of near by harbour. We stopped for a pasty and a pint for lunch. Pasty was one of the best I’ve ever had. Welcoming by lady lady was outstanding and very hospitable. Just what we needs in a drizzly day.

Love this place. Louise really looked after us. Our room was newly refurbished with a sea view. I’m vegetarian and my Son vegan. Louise called me the week before to discuss what we like to eat and was well prepared. Just pizzas on the menu but that was fine our vegan pizzas were lovely. Highly recommend.

Lovely pub 20 yards from the beech. The landlady is lovely and could not be more helpful. Even managed to do us a pastie one evening despite the pub not doing food at present due to a kitchen refit. Hopefully will be doing food again from April. Tribute on hand pump and others on keg.

Stopped off at The Five Pilchards after a dog walk with friends. We all, including the dogs, received a warm welcome by the manager, Lou. It was lovely to sit by the cosy fire whilst enjoying tea and cake. The pub has such a relaxing,, friendly atmosphere and is the perfect place to while away an afternoon or evening.
