Bayview Lakefront Inn

Quite a disappointment. Overcharged for a room that was deteriorating, needed repairs, and TV was difficult to use. Amenities missing (coffee cups). Air conditioner only had one working fan speed. Changed $220, expected better. Also, entrance has a huge drop-off. Be careful if your car has low clearance.

We had to cancel our reservation immediately after checking into the room due to the extremely poor conditions. The floors were filthy, there were bugs, the bed was broken, and we found garbage under the bed. The refrigerator was also dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. When we asked to be moved, we were told there were no clean rooms available and no estimate could be given for when one might be ready. To make matters worse, the staff seemed completely indifferent to the situation—nonchalant and unhelpful, as if this was nothing out of the ordinary. We had no choice but to leave and make last-minute arrangements elsewhere. This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend staying here to anyone expecting even basic standards of cleanliness or service.

No one at the front desk. You had to walk to the next hotel which us owned by the same family We were the only people staying in the whole building. The second day, another couple checked in and they gave them our room even though our stay with them wasn't over, yet.

So, this is a very old property. That said, it is very well-maintained. I am of the mindset why not stay in a room that has knotty pine walls and mid Century modern furniture than the usual cookie cutter hotel. Parking is directly in front of your room door. It is 20 feet to walk to the lake front. It is a very nice walk up and down the lakeshore. There are geese and other water birds fishing in the morning, people with their dogs running along the shallows. Just the sort of vibe I want an old Lake town. Of note, it is much easier to get on the ferries in St. Ignace than Mackinaw City.

Had a king size bed, sheets did not fit. They came off, with you just sitting down. Bathroom was small and door was hard to open and close. Thought I was going to be locked in the bathroom. But veiw was good. And the room was rustic cute.

Very dated property in need of a deep cleaning. Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3:00pm check in time. We were given a second room and discovered after unloading that cable tv wasn't working. Staff tried to get it working to no avail and then called another person who wasn't working only to be reminded that cable service wasn't working in any room on that side of the property. We were then given a room on the other side of the property. Bumped the a/c cover and it came off exposing a filter that looked like a wool mat it was so dirty. Wiped something off the floor and discovered the floor was literally black with dirt. Normally we would have left after the second room but Stacy was so very nice. She kept apologizing for the problems and tried so hard to accommodate us. The only redeeming quality of this motel was Stacy and the property owners should be thankful they have such a nice employee. We will not return and cannot recommend it.
