Baron's Cove

I have been at this property before (hotel and restaurant) and traditionally viewed it as a top-notch option for staying in Sag Harbor, however they are inflexible and unpleasant. I helped organize a high profile business retreat at the property and inadvertently booked a non-refundable rate well in advance. When our group's plans changed well in advance of the stay, Cape Resorts was unwilling to refund the amount (for the stay this upcoming October), provide me with a credit for a future stay, or enable me to use it toward food/beverage for our meeting. Travel and hospitality should include "hospitality". I will not recommend this property in the future because their management is lacking in empathy and humanity.

Like most places in the Hamptons, the restaurant at Baron's Cove is overpriced. The decor is meant to look "Olde Sag Harbour" and, it does. It's quite cozy. But, the service, particularly in the bar area has always been oddly slow ... to the point of being frustrating ... even when it isn't crowded.

An amazing combination of casual and elegant, Superb service at every meal and at the pool.A short walk to the Village with its many shops and restaurants.Visually stunning, especially at night when it is lit up and music is playing. I hope to return every summer.

For approximately the last five years, my daughter and I have enjoyed the wonderful accommodations, hospitality, picturesque location and exceptional friendly services at Baron’s Cove. Be it summer, fall or Thanksgiving Day, Baron’s Cove never disappoints. The atmosphere and ambiance are ideal for a family gathering, bridal party, wedding, or simply a weekend getaway for fun in the sun which could likely turn into a longer vacay, that is if one is lucky enough to extend the stay. Believe me, Baron’s Cove is one of the hottest locations in Sag Harbor. Weekend evenings bring in patrons from all walks of life. The hotel restaurant serves some of the best entrees, service is impeccable and the bar lounge is so conducive for enjoying top shelf liquors, wines and cocktails while conversing with family and friends while listening to live music of all genres. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge one of the “most talented and professional” bartenders throughout Suffolk County — the Renowned, KAMANI! When Kamani serves you, it’s difficult to leave the bar. Of course, Baron’s entire staff, starting with Jose, Ron, Kristan, the front desk staff, Baron’s creative chef, the servers, engineers, complimentary car service, housekeeping and last but by no means the least, the pool attendants who each summer, travel from European locations to fully train, fall in place and serve us hotel guests in the most friendly, warm and gracious manner. This summer, Kitty, Johnnie, Finn’s brother, along with several other outstanding pool staffers and two upcoming and hard-working younger male pool attendants maintained the swimming pool in the most orderly, comfortable, clean and relaxing manner. My daughter and I never wanted for anything the entire day. It was simply over a week of fun in the sun at the pool and/or the beach! Lastly, after a full day of enjoying whatever your heart desires, it is so comforting to return to a Harbor Room or Baron Loft and relax in the best of hotel settings, from the contemporary living and sleeping areas to a spacious patio or terrace overlooking the pool and a gorgeous pier and dock. In closing, a vacation spent at Baron’s Cove is a vacation well spent. You will leave Baron’s with plans to return. Cheers to Baron’s Cove!

Lovely charming resort close to town with friendly service. Free live music nightly in the bar was great! Good on-site restaurant, loved the tuna and cocktails. Free bikes for guests. However a/c did not work well in humid hot weather and pricing is very high.

We spent one night on the weekend following the 4th of July. My wife and I really liked Baron's Cove. First there is the nice heated pool, with poolside drink and food service, second dedicated parking so don't need to bother with the overcrowded town municipal lots, third, very close to town. Enjoyed the hotel dining and lounge singer with dinner. Nice clean, safe, relaxing (try the front porch), and easy to dine on premises and be right near your room.

We had a 3 day Stay at Barons Cove, over all a lovely feel to the hotel, Perfect location a lovely short stroll into town, Located over looking the bay so a beautiful location, All staff are very friendly but Beau was exceptional as a waiter, a plus to any Hotel or restaurant, We had the 2 bed suite over looking the pool and the bay which was stunning, but the room was a little dated for my taste, But we still had a wonderful stay

We chose Baron's Cove in Sag Harbor as the home base for our trip to visit the Hamptons and the hotel far exceeded our expectations. Wonderful harbor view. Short, flat walk (3-5 minutes) to Main St. and all the shops and restaurants of the village. The rooms were well appointed and the loft rooms are spacious. It's always nice to stay in a hotel with a lounge where you can relax after a day of sight-seeing. The lounge was lively and spirited each night we stayed. But the best part of Baron's Cove is the staff. From the housekeepers, to the restaurant and lounge staff, to Kristen and Karen at the front desk. Everyone was helpful, attentive, warm, and comforting. They bend over backwards to accommodate your needs and do so with a smile. We won't consider any other location when we return to the Hamptons. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Turn down service each night. Housekeeping does a wonderful job of keeping up with your needs. The loft rooms are unique and spacious. Nearby: Only a 15-20 minute drive to the other villages in the Hamptons. We far preferred staying at Baron's Cove and being on the water than staying inland at any other inn within the Hamptons. Walkability: Just a 3-5 minute walk to the Main Street of Sag Harbor. Coffee shops, restaurants, shopping. A quaint village just steps away. Food & drinks: Fun time had in the lounge each night. We only had breakfast in the dining room. Attentive staff. Delicious and good variety on the menu. Avail yourself of a nice breakfast in the morning before beginning your sight-seeing days.

I’ve stayed at Baron’s Cove for a long weekend every spring for the last four years. This past April was my first bad experience. It was such a marked change from prior years that I really wanted to write in and make other travelers aware. The hotel has very minimal staff now. The front desk is rarely occupied by a human being and it is next to impossible to reach someone (no one is ever at the desk so there’s no one to answer the phone either). I waited about 30 minutes without a soul in sight to check in and several hours later, waited another 30 minutes in a deserted lobby when I needed something. This was noticeable throughout the stay. Additionally, the door to my room was left open by housekeeping twice accidentally. Plus, parking on site has become difficult and if you’re able to reach staff for assistance, their only advice about it is “keep circling around” but they’re unable to advise about the ticketing situation is you try to park out front. Overall, just a really unpleasant stay for the first time ever. It’s just a really different vibe overall at Barons Cove. Almost like it’s been bought out or something. I don’t see myself coming back next year, and will start to explore other options in the area.
