Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel & Spa

Having just come back from 7 nights here I was more than impressed with the whole experience. The room was clean, more than comfortable and very aesthetically pleasing. The facilities, were great with a choice of pools and each one had ample of sun beds available, but peak time I imagine could be a different story. The daily activities archery, shooting and sports were great and all free with free bike hire too. The food was good and only one day we struggled with what was on offer, but this was due to personal likes and not lack of offerings. Breakfast was always plentiful with a varied array of sausages and different bacons which for an english person was nice to see back bacon on offer daily. All the staff was polite and greeted you even when just passing in the hall ways. I would, and probably will stay here again.

So, I was in two minds about my star rating 4*/5*, however I feel I lean more towards 4 purely based on a few things that let this hotel down. Staff, majority of the staff are nothing but attentive, helpful and polite. We had one occasion, where gentleman on reception was quite abrupt in that we couldn’t book another restaurant however we were definitely told by the lady upon check-in that if we came back on Friday we would be able to book a second choice. We was made to feel quite stupid but we was purely doing what we was told we could. Bar staff, round of applause, they memorised our favourite drinks and were always really attentive to our daughter who’s 2 years 2 months. I couldn’t get the name of the lady, but she had dark hair and a ponytail, this woman deserves a pay rise! There’s several restaurants that you can choose from if you’re all inclusive within the Protur hotels, we unfortunately only managed one and it completely ruined my husband’s birthday. We went to the Country Grill, how bad could it be?! Well the steak wasn’t even cooked blue it was cold and raw, jacket potatoes cold THE FLIES, while we was eating, just awful, we sat inside and it’s basically just a buffet there was no service, you can only get drinks while eating and it was wine out of a tap and I have to say it was the most disgusting wine I’ve ever tasted. I would absolutely not recommend going there. Restaurant, the first few days, THE FLIES, ah! I agree something needs to be done, one day it really put me off breakfast but mainly the flies seemed to be worse at lunch? (I always dug to the button for my salad). Had a good selection, always find something, dinner seemed to be better on the weekends. The gentleman on the grill probably needs to learn how to cook meat as well. I had a burger and it was so pink in the middle it just made me feel sick. They don’t seem to understand either when you asked to have something cooked thoroughly, I don’t mind steak medium rare but burger meat is different and it should be cooked through (to me). Room, we had a swim up room, it was perfect! We went away with our 2 year old, so some days when we put her to sleep in her cot for a nap we was able to use the pool and sun loungers which was just amazing. Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels, pool towels also can be changed every 3 days, no complains about the room. (Maybe a more comfortable pillow but that’s me being fussy!). Pools, yes they’re ‘fresh’ definitely first thing in the morning.. however you adjust very quickly once you’re in but I do think the kids pool could be slightly warmer for the little ones. Evening entertainment, some nights we had an absolute blast. There was a music band called The Family I think, Wow! Incredible vocals! The beach is a few minutes walk away and the sea was warm, we also went into Cala Millor one night which was literally a 5 minute taxi drive and was a lively area I personally wouldn’t take my little one but that’s personal choice (

I was anxious before arriving, the reviews i had read were mixed, & we were travelling as a family for the first time (baby 4 months old). I was put at ease when i arrived at the hotel, reception & rooms are brand new & the reception team were very friendly. We kindly had been accommodated with a ground floor, that i requested prior to arrival. The restaurant/ bar staff are brilliant all friendly & smiling especially the gentleman that checks you in to the restaurant i think he is called Jose. Food is of a good standard & we never had to wait for a drink so for us all inclusive was worth while. We attended the Indian restaurant which was a nice added touch & also went for a walk in the safari hotel you can use there facilities, we didn’t make the most of this having such a small baby but if you had older kids this would definitely be a bonus, we preferred our hotel as it seemed calmer! Sadly i couldn’t use the adults only pool section but this also looked very good. The points for improvement but wouldn’t stop me coming again are the below: *Food needs to be covered in the restaurants some flies floating around * personally i didn’t love the area, its very touristy but we stayed mostly in the hotel due to ease of the new born, however Porto cristo is close we got a bus, it only took 15/20 mins. *The umbrellas do not block the sun out fully luckily we had snuz shades with us *The air con wasn’t working initially an engineer checked ours & that made the room around 21 degrees ( I had a thermometer-due to baby) *the lights in the room are very snazzy but the bathroom lights up the whole room due to a glass partition, i took a night light which i would recommend. *we used the indoor pool when it rained it was freezing!

Fantastic family holiday. We stayed here for a week half board and couldn't fault it at all. We have just booked again for next year but for two weeks. We feel there was so much we didn't get chance to do. The staff in all areas are so hard working and accommodating. The hotel is immaculate, and we had no complaints with the hotel facilities. The pool area is great and like everyone says, enough beds to go around! We enjoyed all the food on offer and the location of the hotel was great. We had tje best holiday creating wonderful memories ❤️

Where do I begin ?!! Sorry for the long post but here goes. Hope you all find this helpful ! My husband and I took our two children (boy aged 13 and girl aged 16) on this All Inclusive holiday for a week. We flew from Luton to Palma and then got airport tranfer to the hotel which took 1.5hrs as we had drop offs on the way. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Christina. She is fluent in Spanish but originally comes from England so she was very clear with all instructions. Firstly we wanted a safe so we paid €2 a day (total €14) to hire. We didn't need any hotel sunbed towels as we brought our own but the offer was there to have them and pay a deposit (which you would get back). We also paid the hotel tax which was about €60 for the week. (Can't remember exactly how much it was) We paid this on arrival at the reception desk. We were given our room cards and given clear instructions of where our rooms were. We had two rooms and the hotel accomodated our request to have rooms near each other. We were on level 2 and had a balcony each which overlooked the adult only pool. The rooms had a safe, hangers in wardrobe, 2 single beds, sofa bed, balcony with table and chairs, clothes airer on balcony, shampoo and shower gel in shower, hairdryer in bathroom drawer, tea and coffee facilities, plenty of clean towels which were changed daily by the cleaners and a mini fridge which was stocked up daily for all inclusive guests. The rooms got cleaned daily and bedding got made and then changed once in the week. The cleaners did a fantastic job and we couldn't fault the rooms at all. Thankyou to them all. Let me talk about pools - 4 pools. Adult only, family pool, childrens pool (next to family pool) and toddler/ baby pool. All pools clean and good temperature. Lifeguards (blonde hair girl especially) were amazing and always keeping an eye on the pool. Aqua aerobics daily at 11.30am in the family pool. This was led mainly by a very energetic lady called Paula. She was brilliant and a lot of people took part daily. Such great fun. The animation team was led by 4 ladies and we got to know Paula and Madeline very well. These two ladies were full of energy and so approachable. Very lovely and did a great job all week. They never stopped working and were always up for a chat. A great animation team. Pool bar staff also brilliant. A wide variety of drinks (not just local brands). Cocktails, soft drinks, hot drinks all included with all inclusive guests. Mike knew our drinks after a few days and kept us hydrated very well. Thankyou Mike !! A great credit to the staff at the pool bar. Now for food chat- Amazing! The staff in the dining hall do not stop working. They are constantly cleaning, setting, taking plates away, getting drinks to the table and always so friendly. Well done to all the waitress and waiters. Great friendly faces daily. Such a variety of food at all times. Breakfast - you name it, it was on offer. Even English bacon and sausages !! Lu

Our first time staying at this hotel and won't be the last! From start to finish we couldn't fault anything. Friendly, helpful, clean, great food and drinks, beautiful hotel and pools. We went all inclusive which was well worth it. A short walk to the beach and shops which we loved everyday. We stayed at the adult pool most of the time and it was so peaceful and relaxing with its own bar perfect for couples wanting to get away from busy lives and switch off. Could of easily stayed for 10 days instead of a week. Overall a very good 4 star hotel.
