We loved it, breakfast was amazing. If you like history, comfort and quiet nights sleep then we would fully recommend staying. We read the previous reviews and we experienced the complete opposite, we hope to stay again in the future, the tai restaurant in Thornbury was excellent as well

I booked this place due to the reviews and was shocked at how appalling it was. We arrived at 3pm and was told we could not check in until 5pm. The guy was extremely rude about it and that was our welcome to the hotel. Check out the following day was 10am, and those two timings alone should tell you how welcome you are made to feel. It's such a shame but if I were you, I would avoid this awful place.

Like another customer on here, I had read glowing reviews (But perhaps not noted some were written by those who share a name with the proprietor!) The property itself was beautiful. The surroundings were lovely too. However, I was also made to feel guilty for not eating dinner on site and the owner appeared to find creative ways to charge for extras. A example: The hotel had a fairly late check-in. I arrived very slightly earlier than this and explained i was happy to wait. Yet the owner told me the room was ready and encouraged me to settle in. I later found he billed for this 20 minute earlier room entry. Additionally felt watched over and viewed as an irritant which was somewhat stressful. Conclusion: If one is prepared for a bucolic Basil Faulty experience, then it is worth it of only for the location itself.

Impressive elegant historic house with large well-appointed rooms. No idea how such a place stays in good shape, but this one does it with a bit to spare. Highly personalised breakfasts! Good shower and comfy beds. Good WiFi. Recommended, especially if you’re from overseas and want a classic English experience

I was given a lovely warm welcome after a long journey to get there and felt at home as soon as arriving. The room was perfect, nice and quiet as requested and breakfast the next day was really nice and set me up for the day. Thanks so much i look forward to returning to you soon

Our third visit to Old Church Farm, this time in the context of a small but significant family birthday, using most of the bedrooms: the weekend could not have been a greater success. We are extremely grateful to Christipher and Kate for their warm welcome, superb hospitality and Kate's outstanding cuisine. Every single meal was about as perfect as a breakfast and evening meal could possibly be and the care, attention and friendly professionalism shown by them both is quite remarkable. They thoroughly deserve every accolade given by the AA and other organisations. As we said before, long may they thrive!
