Birmingham South (Rubery)

Room was really nice, we booked breakfast for 8.30 with 2 adults,2 kids. Got to breakfast for just before 8.30 only had 1 table left near a door where there was a draft, breakfast took 25 min to come out as this was cooked to order when order came items was missing . If I had know this I would’ve of ordered breakfast here. Didn’t seem to be enough staff or tables for the amount of customers there. People was turned away as no tables available, people walked out waiting to long for cooked breakfast. The continental breakfast was not stocked well. Then a staff member allowed what looked like 2 homeless people come in and clear what was left of the continental breakfast item that was left there. This was just after 9. Felt like this was not an unlimited breakfast as unless you have a lot of time to wait for it to be cooked items to be done. We had a day out planned from our stay starting at 10 o’clock. I’ve stayed in a lot of premium inn hotels but this is my 1st experience like this in the restaurant. Apart from the restaurant the hotel was really nice the lady that was on reception when we arrived was really nice and chatty with the children. They had a little Easter duck find in the room. My daughter was made up with this as she found a duck and got a little sweet for the reception.

The staff are the best part of this site. The hotel is clean, but it's sad to see the state of the restaurant as it's currently transferring over from a brewers fayre, limited menu, and it was quite eery as it was so quiet. Such a shame as it was probably a lovely pub before Whitbread made the changes. The staff really do try to make your stay better. The extractor in the bathroom wasn't great, so the room felt damp after having a shower. The kids loved the mother duckling hunt!

Nice hotel and the staff were amazing a young lady called Rebecca I think really looked after me pub next door easy to find rooms nice and clean good location food was good and drinks not overpriced thanks very much Rebecca for making me feel welcome

Bed was comfy, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Decor was a bit dated with some holes in the walls. Skirting board in bathroom was grimy and bathroom smelt damp (think it was the shower curtain) Breakfast was perfect and our server Staycee was friendly, welcoming and very attentive.

With premier inn you know how it's going to be, a good level of service, breakfast this morning was great, we were served by Sakar, who looked after us very well, and the food is great, withe a good selection. The only downside is that the restaurant, used to be Brewers fayre, but closed, and lost some atmosphere, the staff are good, but the place feels empty.

Pukka . Lovely lady at reception (Tracey ) Made to feel very welcome . Got a nice good luck card for my son's sporting event . Extra tea bags and a Comfy bed ................... well pleased ............................................................
