Narakiel's Inn

Narakiel's Inn is a perfect budget accommodation for Roseau. It is quieter than in town because it's across the river, yet it is just a 5-10 minute walk from anything (the Bay Front, the Botanical Garden). The rooms are comfortable and have very good beds, great towels, and powerful air-conditioners. You can even do a little cooking in the room if you need to.

I booked this stay without any review information. It turned out to be a great option in fact. The place was aboyt 5 mins away from the town. The room was fully equipped with eveything you could think of. The bathroom was also well equipped and furnished with the necessary necessities. The view was an amazing view. It was a balcony view with a view of the river and town centre; one look would tell whether a cruise ship was in town or not. Lastly SHERWIN was very friendly and polite. He made sure we were set and treated us like family. He serviced the room well and in a timely manner. This place was very affordable and would definitely recommend.

Having read the reference in Lonely Planet's "Caribbean Islands'', my wife and I booked at Narakiel's Inn for 6 nights, January 14-20th, 2024. At our suggestion over the phone, the owner proceeded to invoice a 50% deposit on our credit card -- which she made safely and without any hidden amount. After arrival, we chose to pay the balance in local currency (thus saving a little % in exchange rate). The 6 units have shared access to two narrow balconies facing the Roseau River, with the Caribbean Sea as background. Our studio itself (room + kitchenette + bathroom) was somehow the smallest we had experienced, and will never be called luxury; but for active people (like us) who spend most of their days visiting around, it was fine : good AirCon, solid NetCon, safe surrounding and helpful managers -- always reachable by phone or (free) WhatsApp. The place's strongest advantage is its location : just North of the river, you're away from downtown's hard core; but still very close to Botanical Garden, three regional bus terminals, the ocean front's boulevard, several supermarkets and the roofed open market -- great for fresh local vegetables (the country produces plenty)... sold by ladies with spontaneous conversation ! Anyways, this tiny capital city is easily walkable around in all directions. Narakiel's best kept secret may be the neighbourhood just behind (between Pottersville and the hospital laying on a hill), where we never got tired of its curvy streets full of creative architecture. Another tip: just beside the Inn is Tropix Rent-a-Car, where Esther will rent the vehicle you need to visit the rest of the country -- and for many of us, get baptized with left-side driving ! She can also take care of the (mandatory) short-time driving permit the law demands. For budget travellers in search of a very good value in Roseau, we definitely recommand Narakiel's Inn ! --François and Mariela.
