Schloss Wartensee

Wir feierten unsere Traumhochzeit im Schloss Wartensee. Neben dem super Apero und dem grundsätzlich sehr netten Personal sind doch einige Dinge verbesserungswürdig auf die wir unterstehend genauer eingehen werde: Dinner: Der Dinner war grundsätzlich gut gelungen, aber so wie uns unsere geladenen Gäste im nachhinein mitgeteilt haben, wurde auf allen Tischen zu wenig Fleisch und Pommes aufgetischt, so dass einige unserer Gäste nach dem Essen noch immer hungrig waren. Auch hat das bestellte Brot gefehlt. Desweiteren wurde einigen Gästen auch nach mehrmaligen Nachhaken kein Wein oder Prosecco mehr nachgeschenkt. Wie wir später erfahren haben blieb vom Essen noch einiges in der Küche zurück was nicht den Weg auf den Tisch gefunden hat. Dementsprechend gibt es beim Servicepersonal doch noch einiges an Schulungsbedarf. Mitunter fehlt auch ein Chef de Service welcher den Überblick behält, das würde es dem Servicepersonal erleichtern. Barbetrieb: Die sehr nette Bedienung hinter der Bar hatte leider keine Ahnung vom Drinks mixen. Kein Vorwurf an Sie, aber auch hier müsste das Team besser geschult werden. Unsere Gäste haben dann relativ schnell die Schulung selber übernommen ;-) Fazit: Das Schloss Wartensee lebt von der Traumlage und dem Charme. Beim Servicepersonal herrscht allerdings Schulungsbedarf und ein Chef welcher die Übersicht am Abend behält. Das Personal vor Ort war ab 17:00 Uhr auf sich alleine gestellt!

We had a small group check into the hotel in the evening, but no one was there to greet us. There was a cryptic message about codes and how to retrieve keys, and after trying to piece together the clues, we finally were able to get the keys. The room I was in was a bit of a death-trap -- opening the door, it was pitch black, and my luggage was in front of me. All of the sudden, before I could even turn on the light, the luggage lurched forward and went down a flight of five stairs into the hotel room. That could've been me! It was unseasonably warm when we were there, and there was no air conditioning, and no one to ask for a fan, so sleep was tough and I was sweating immediately after taking a shower in the tiny stall shower. The view of Lake Constance, I have to say, is stunning and they've done a great job of maximizing the view. Given that the romance of a place like this is that it's in a castle, one would think that there would be someone or something to explain the history of the place, but there is nothing, so instead, it just felt like a bad hotel experience with a good view. Note that staff only seems to be on site between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

We arrived on a Saturday. And had asked for a quiet room. A wedding party was planned. When we arrived the staff was busy and had absolutely no time to welcome us. They told us that they upgraded us with a very nice room. It happens that the room was next to the wedding party. At 10 pm we asked to change room. Although we had been told that the hotel was full, they finally found us a calmer room. Unfortunately, the noice of the wedding party still prevented us to sleep! That without saying that for our evening meal they served is in the lobby of the hotel. That was very weird! Awful service and experience! The hotel took no responsibility for the noise. Very unprofessional. The hotel takes advantage of a beautiful surrounding but the service and rooms are far to be worth the prize.
