Eagle House Motel

Very nice clean room. Staff very pleasant. Yes temp controlled by office but it was no problem getting it adjusted. Stairs not too bad even for me with arthritis in my knees. Good exercise. In walking distance from everything Rockport offers

Siamo arrivati al motel poco dopo il tramonto e Rockport era tutta immersa nel buio, tanto che il mio primo pensiero è stato "qui stanotte c'ammazzano". Non c'era lo staff, abbiamo praticamente fatto il check in da soli, per poi correre giù in città a cena visto che chiudeva tutto alle 20 (fantastico il Fish Shack, consigliatissimo). La posizione è ottima, veramente a due passi dalla parte migliore di Rockport, credo sia uno dei posti che mi è rimasto più impresso nel nostro viaggio nel New England. Al mattino con la luce diventa tutto bellissimo, una colazione veloce al Brothers Brew Coffee Shop, due chiacchiere con le persone del posto che si fermano volentieri a darti indicazioni e suggerirti i posti da visitare, una bella passeggiata fino al Motif 1 per poi fare il check out, anche stavolta da soli. Alla fine ci abbiamo passato una notte sola ma è stato tutto veramente bello. Ora, non so se è stata una cosa solo dei giorni che eravamo lì noi, ma non c'era staff se non le donne della pulizia. Avevamo comunque il contatto su whatsapp in caso di bisogno. Che dire, ci tornerei senza pensarci due volte.

The room was clean and roomy enough, however, the bath was very small. It would be hard to expand since it is an older dwelling. The issue we had was the air conditioner - we did not have control - we had to call the owner to have him turn it on remotely. It did come on but was not cool enough. We did not want to disturb him in the middle of the night, so we just managed. I wanted to speak to him about the noise the louver made, but the office was still locked when we checked out the next morning. Best to stay on the top floor if you can manage stairs. You do hear every footfall above you.

Welcoming, reasonably priced, tastefully decorated rooms. Loved the location, steps away from the main street(s) of Rockport. Only stayed one night, but would like to return and stay longer. Convenient microwave and fridge; church bells were lovely. Stayed in (16), nice deck ( shared). Might suggest a coffee service, I stayed during the shoulder season, so that might be why. Very helpful upon check in with knowledge of town galleries, restaurants, and directions. Appreciated the fact that there is a place affordable to stay so close to town. Clean, Comfortable. Classy.
