I was super excited to go to Rockhampton for the first time. I drove 9 hours with my autistic 17 year old. I have a long family history here but had not visited before and I’m 46 years old. When I arrived, happy to be at their hotel, their 3 staff at reception were transactional. These were the first people I meet in Rockhampton. Please know I stay in backpacks all the way to high end hotels but the staff made me feel like I was an imposter and I shouldn’t be in their hotel. There was nothing welcoming about them. Not even a “how has your day been “?. It was more, I’m charging you card, this is how your room fob works, see you later. This was the same for staff across the 2 days I stayed there. No asking if I needed anything or if they could be of assistance. Just nothing. Flatline. Aside from this, the apartment is 3.5 star. Really comfortable and a huge balcony with a great few. I couldn’t complain about a $220 per night charge.
