Naturoville Ayurvedic and Yoga Retreat by OpenSky

My partner and I signed up for a 7 day retreat in Jan, whilst there were some good elements, there was a lot of negatives that you’d expect this resort to be great at given they claim to have been running for 14 years and frequently have foreigner visitors and many positive reviews. For us, the very basics were missing which impacted my overall enjoyment and relaxation. The key theme was lack of communication and the programme that was sold to us wasn’t exactly what we experienced. With some quick fixes, the retreat has the potential to be great. Context wise, My partner and I are from the UK and do not speak Hindi. We understand that not all staff are likely to speak Hindi which made the week more challenging for us. Welcome There was no warm welcome when we arrived. There was no tour provided around the retreat (we had to ask for it later on), our schedule was never discussed in detail. We were taken to our room but nothing was explained in relation to how to turn on the hot water or heating (we were forced to have a cold shower before later realising we had to turn certain switches and off). We were also not given other details such as WiFi passwords. No staff throughout the week ever bothered to introduce themselves which I found unprofessional. Quick fix: Staff should give a tour shortly after arrival and should explain the above points but another fix would be to provide a written guide within the rooms which would avoid the above negatives. Consultation (doctors) We had the male doctor. I felt the consultation was very high level and not detailed. We had the male doctor who was nice but didn’t ask many detailed questions. We were given a schedule later on but nothing was explained. Infact, I wasn’t even aware I was on a detox programme until I asked for clarification on day 2. It would have been helpful at this point to have an intro to aryuveda from the doctor as we had little to no knowledge. This hindered our stay as I didn’t understand what was happening and what the benefit was for half of our stay. Quick fix: they could easily also provide this in written format which would have been a big help. The doctors should also explain things. We found the female doctor much more forthcoming with information and better at explaining things. The doctors should check the patients level of understanding before, do they can explain things accordingly. Yoga - We initially had Shubham as our main teacher. Shubham was friendly and passionate. In contrast the lead Yoga instructor, Kuldip was the opposite. We found Kuldip (the instructor) very rude. He never introduced himself to us, never asked our names or our yoga levels. He made zero conversation to build any rapport or energy and seemed very demotivated and disinterested. It felt like he had lost all passion and didn’t want to be there. It was nice experience to stay there , Got very good service...Your staff Tanisha was very helpful n well behaved... ambience and cleaness is good,food is also tasty overall it is very good experience to stay there in this hotel, All the staff is groomed and the hospitality is also very nice

What a nice place, The accommodations are good, offer yoga classes with perfect instructors, meditation, excellent medical treatment, therapeutic massage, all in an environment surrounded by nature and comfort. the place is beautiful with a highly qualified team. I will certainly come back.

Um lugar delicioso para fazer um Detox Ayurvedico. A comida deliciosa, sempre fresquinha. Os quartos muito espaçosos e confortáveis. Cama excelente. Os tratamentos maravilhosos individualizados para cada pessoa. Aulas de ioga e meditação que fazem a diferença! Vou voltar!!

Naturoville is The best place to do a retreat near to Rishkesh . It is a complete service with The best therapies, massages, Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, food, pool and relax . I do recommend this placenta and I will be back for sure. Thank you so much.
