The Chipman Inn

About 40 years ago, late at night, we happened across the Chipman Inn. We were delighted with the whole experience and our interactions with the people there. When, in full daylight, we saw how breathtakingly beautiful the surrounding area was, it left a deep and lasting impression. This summer, craving a peaceful natural setting for a short holiday, we remembered that encounter, and looked up the Chipman Inn online. To our delight, we discovered that it now has an add-on wing with two adjacent rooms, both very tastefully decorated— one with a fully accessible bathroom --and a shared sitting area. What a rare and very welcome find: accessibility in an historic inn! The breakfast we were served in the spacious, sunlit dining room was not only very tasty and healthy, but was presented like a work of art. On top of all that, we enjoyed consistently warm and attentive hospitality from the Inn’s new owners — who truly mean it when they say that they hope you will feel like you’re visiting with family — and we left them after our three-day stay with parting hugs! Highly recommended accommodations. We plan to come back!

You won't find a more accommodating innkeeper than Chris Bullock. He did everything to make my 10-day stay feel like a home away from home. My room was cozy and quiet, perfect for my needs. Delicious breakfasts. Great place to relax in the Vermont mountains.

We had a wonderful stay at the Chipman Inn! We are a family of 4 (kids are 10 and 12) who were in the area to ski. Killington is exactly 1 hour from the Inn, but it was a beautiful drive. Pico Mt. was closer to 50 minutes. Sugarbush is near by too. We loved sitting by the fire at the end of our ski day and the restaurants recommended by the Inn Keeper Chris were fantastic. Chris was full of great history and information about the area. It’s hard to find Inns that are a good fit for families and this one knocked it out of the park. We can’t wait to return!!
