If you stay at a Premier Inn bring a toilet brush! I use Premier Inn quite a lot - convenient, comfortable and value for money. Not this time! There seems to have been a change in corporate policy, for the worse. The card that I got when checking in told me that I could get my room made up by informing Reception before 12:00, which I did. Upon my return to the room nothing had been done! Reception then informed me that their head office policy now was for stays longer than one night, rooms would only be made up after 5 days! Fortunately they found some clean towels, replacement tea bags and a toilet brush. Someone from the bar then helped me make up the room and clean the bathroom. Top marks for staff helpfulness but no marks for corporate cleanliness.

The hotel is what you would expect. However they charged me twice for the hotel and had to go and had to drive back to the hotel to get a refund. The reception was unorganised and slow. And most of the time nobody on reception. The rooms was good and was clean so can't complain. However the weirdest set up ever the sinks was outside the bathroom. The sinks was in the room where you sleep awful to try and use sink while you have a baby or someone sleeping.

All the staff were lovely from the happy check in staff (even though it was around 2am!) to breakfast staff. We didn’t stay long enough to see any of the housekeeping staff but the room was spotless. The lady at breakfast was so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Booked through holiday extras as an overnight with parking at JetParks 3, wasn’t easy to find as sat nav took me to THG buildings, used Google maps to get us to our destination, upon arrival I was somewhat disappointed by the external appearance then thought what the heck it’s only 1 night, the young lad at reception was welcoming & pleasant, our room was 436 & was lovely, tea, coffee, hairdryer, big white clean towels & gorgeous comfy (like feathers) double bed. The hotel rooms have recently been refurbished so are still very fresh & pleasant with 2 shower head options that were powerful & lovely Baylis & Harding products. The rooms could not be faulted with plenty of dockets & USB ports. It would be advisable to book a table if you wish to dine in the restaurant as it was very busy (hotel was fully booked), I have to say we were so impressed with Ethan a young man bringing out the meals, pleasant, charming, not too overly familiar & an absolute credit to his parents & the hotel, the young lady with long dark hair who took payment was great too, sorry couldn’t see your name badge. I would not hesitate to stay here again. They’ve got a great staff team here! Only word of warning is the car park is monitored by Horizon who have an appalling reputation so make sure you pay, get a receipt just in case & leave within 15 minutes of doing so!

Firstly the staff are not polite or helpful. They are standing around chatting away and asking you to check in on the machines when I'm holding ironed clothes for a party ( 5 pairs) When asked to do it on the desk they said we advise you use these. No where on any poster does it state that what time breakfast is, not one of them. They all say what they serve and it's hot and buffet but nothing about timings. When you go in the room there is no way of contacting reception, no phone nothing. I had a child asleep and couldn't get downstairs to ask about breakfast timings. There is so much noise during the night, of people talking and chatting which is surprising as you'd think ud hear planes but not one in site or can you hear one. When leaving I said to the receptionist about the noise, and she replied " are you checking out now" complete ignoring my comments. I stay at quite a few hotels and just in September stayed in 4 different ones, however this was one of the worst I had stayed at it. I won't be leaving my room with a child asleep to find out timings that's their job to put on the posters. The noise level needs to be monitored are their cameras in the hall ways? Anyone watching them to see maybe people are standing there chatting disturbing the others. The complaints team is useless
