I've been going to this hotel for a few years and every time there's another problem. Windows are broken, and the toilets are not working, keys stop working. Front desk staff clueless plus they don't keep the breakfast area clean or stocked even though they sit 10 feet away. They don't clean the rooms while you're there. Not going back....

You get what you pay for minus a little we emailed this property asking them to see if they were able to do some sort of an accommodation to make our room a little bit more special because we were coming down for honeymoon. They texted us back and said that they could then when we got there the room was just room with hair in the bathtub and beer bottle caps underneath our beds overall not impressed worked for a cheep room thou that’s about it and breakfast was okay so that’s kinda a plus I’ve seen better but the omelets were a nice touch

Check-in was friendly, our room was clean, bed was comfy, breakfast was great, with many options, and it is close to many local attractions.

This room was the only one they had lefr and we thought that we would stay. No refrigerator or microwave in the room, which is odd, ice maker on first floor was out of order, so no ice, and juice machine for breakfast was also out of order. No food made up. Had to make own eggs which is wierd.

Stopped in Rice Lake after 9 hour drive from Columbus on our way to Northern Minnesota. Very clean, pleasant small room with comfortable bed. Great breakfast with made to order waffles and omlettes. Friendly service, easy reservation and check in.

Quiet facility, conveniently located. After a long day’s car ride it was great to be able to walk on the nearby Red Cedar River Trail. Also plush towels were above normal motel chain standards. One improvement would be to put a safety/grab bar by the shower/tub. Looking out the window and seeing a pair of Sandhill cranes in the field behind the motel was an added bonus.

The rooms are like closets. I would rather have stayed in a camper. You can hear EVERYONE else in the hotel. When I git here and saw what it was, they wouldn't refund my money which I really didn't expect they would. However, they lied and said I booked through a 3rd party which I showed my confirmation from Microtel saying I bought straight through them. Stay elsewhere!

We were a little nervous about staying here after we read the reviews in depth after booking. WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT HOW NICE IT WAS! We had a clean, quiet room. The hotel is located at the end of a busy area but close to restaurants and gas. Breakfast included a make your own omelet station, waffle station, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, juice, coffee, tea. This hotel is under new ownership and they are bending over backwards to fix all the negative reviews people experienced before July 2023. There is no pool or fancy amenities. We just wanted a place to sleep on our cross country trip. We'd stay again if we are ever in the area. Friendly, helpful staff. We highly recommend staying at this hotel.

My family of 5 adults and 5 children stayed at the Microtel on June 16 thru 18. On the evenings of June 17 and June 18 there was no hot water. Imagine trying to get dirty children to take a bath or shower in cold water. No other places were available in Rice Lake so we had no choice but to stay. The GM said we would have an adjustment on the cost of the room. Two weeks later, there has been no adjustment. I called the Microtel and asked about the adjustment, and was told the owner took the names of those who were there those evenings to give adjustments. Two weeks later there has been no adjustments. It would seem that the owner is more interested in profit than the customer. I would not advise anyone to stay here.
