Had a very nice stay on a business trip. Gym was lacking equipment but had enough to get by. Didn’t use the restaurant

The bed gave me back ache that kept me awake for much of the second night, there was dust on the top of the limescaled kettle that needed washing, the room had a smoky smell and the bathroom sink took an age to drain away and obviously needed to be unclogged. There was litter in the hallway that wasn't cleared for the duration of our stay and when my wife asked for a couple of glasses she was given two that very obviously were dirty. The underside of the plates at dinner were rough to the touch giving the impression they hadn't been washed properly. However we did find each of the staff encountered to be polite and friendly. We thought to try Travelodge because of its location and cheaper price but will use Premier Inn next time.

I have mixed sentiments from my visit to the spa. I cannot comment on the hotel; instead my review is based solely on my visit to the spa for a spa day experience. In general, I'd say the facilities and grounds are absolutely stunning. I was really impressed with the quality of decor and general impression of all the buildings and facilities. However, although the spa facilities were high quality, I'd say the experience itself in the thermal suite wasn't what I expected. The thermal suite itself was pretty small which wouldn't be an issue except there were far too many bookings scheduled for the size of the area. It was rather crowded but worse...incredibly noisy. I had booked this experience for some peace and tranquility but the thermal suite didn't by any degree feel peaceful. It felt more like a public swimming pool. I cut my time in the area short by instead seeking refuge in the spa lounge, which by contrast, was extremely peaceful and comfortable. Thankfully, the friendly staff and excellent treatment I received (massage) made up for the disappointing thermal suite part of the spa experience. The food was really nice; high quality ingredients and tasty. So overall, I feel it would have been an excellent spa package in a beautiful location but I'd urge the spa management to review how they schedule bookings so that they aren't oversubscribing timeslots which compromise the quality of the spa experience

Really enjoyed our stay which was for work purposes, food delicious and really good service. Will definitely return for a lesiure stay and to use the spa

Overnight spa stay, spa was beautiful staff were super helpful and friendly, however had booked an executive room which on arrival clearly had not been cleaned. Tea cups and saucers were stained, and we had to clean and wash in the sink, dust and cob webs around the room and bedding was not white but a tired looking grey colour . Stains too on carpet and furniture and even had to wipe over the desk to clean prior to use 😞 best part of the room was the bathroom which did have a fabulous bath and shower. Breakfast was served quickly and was a good quality. Would love to return to the spa but would be really hesitant booking a room again unless reviews indicate improvement in cleaning standards which is a shame 😞

The hotel and spa are pleasant enough. The restaurant manager was helpful when we sent the frozen/raw pizza back. Multiple tables around us were sending food back which is a shame because the venue could be great if you sorted the food out. Breakfast was also very poor in both quality and service. The bread was stale (mentioned again by multiple people around us) and yet this wasn’t replaced with fresh bread. My dissatisfaction was expressed to the manager upon checkout but she gave the impression she wanted to hurry us off because someone else was waiting to check in. This was a mini break for my 30th and wasn’t special at all. The staff knew about the occasion and didn’t offer an option to purchase champagne or anything special for the room. Sadly we were also charged for the complimentary/ compensation dessert which we were offered after the raw pizza complaint. This was taken off when I queried this. It’s a real shame about the breakfast/restaurant. The venue is lovely and spa staff great. I just wouldn’t bother with my wedding here now after the slow service and disappointing quality and care in food. Please sort it out as the venue location has potential.
