Disappointing Stay - Security Issues & Terrible Customer Service Our stay at Lindos Sun was far from the relaxing experience we expected. The security concerns in particular were a huge issue and the customer service was equally disappointing. The most concerning problem was with the security of our room. On two separate occasions, we returned to find the door unlocked, despite having securely locked it before leaving. This is a major safety concern - what could have happened if someone had entered the room? Our valuables (including passports) could have been taken, leading to serious complications. When we brought this issue up with the female manager, her response was to simply tell a colleague to "make sure the door is locked going forward." That was the extent of the solution. While we appreciate the attempt to improve the situation, it does nothing to address the core issue: how did the door become unlocked in the first place? Offering a fruit platter as compensation may have been an attempt at goodwill, but it did nothing to resolve the underlying security concern, and we were left feeling unsettled for the rest of our stay. As for the customer service - it was a huge letdown. The breakfast service was incredibly slow, with basic items like juice being unavailable for self service, causing unnecessary delays. On multiple mornings, I had to wait for long stretches before being attended to. On one occasion when I asked a female staff member for coffee, she spoke to me in a patronizing tone, making me feel like my request was a burden rather than a standard part of the service. Another example of poor service occurred when my daughter went to breakfast alone. A male server came to set the table but didn’t greet her, didn’t smile, and didn’t offer any drinks or assistance. She had to ask for a drink herself which made her feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. In any decent hotel, basic courtesy and hospitality would be expected, but it was clearly lacking here. That said, there were some staff members who truly stood out and provided the kind of service one would expect at a reputable hotel. The housekeeping team, along with all the Filipino staff members, were friendly and professional throughout our stay. Katerina and the two girls at the pool bar were always pleasant and attentive, and the male night-shift receptionist was a breath of fresh air with his welcoming attitude. The barman at night also made great cocktails and contributed to the better moments of our stay. These individuals made a real difference and deserve recognition for their kindness and service. However, the lack of basic warmth and professionalism continued even when we were leaving. We passed by three staff members - the female manager, a receptionist, and the same male server from breakfast - and none of them acknowledged us or even said goodbye.
