Meliton Hotel

Hotel was nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Owner drove us up the road to a recommended restaurant which was amazing. Food in hotel was good but small election. Drinks were good. Cocktail hour every night was great. Small shop in hotel expensive as they usually are. Nearest local shops about 20m walk away. Air-conditioning not included and at 7€ PER DAY we thought that was too much. Cleaned daily. Towels changed when needed. Pool area good. Seemed to be enough space for guests in July. Sadly during our stay a group of approx 11 polish blokes arrived and had caused utter chaos within hours smashing glasses, hitting women etc Police were called and they were all moved on the following day but being there with young children made us a bit uneasy. Hotel staff dealt with it pretty well and quickly. Would def come back to use the hotel for a future quiet break.

Where to start. Not worth 3 star hotel. The main problem is food quality. Worst breakfast we ever had. Really limited buffet. 2 times per week somekind of bacon and fried eggs. Rest of week boring and minimal selection of food.Sausages tastes like plastic. All kind of buffet times you have to order your drinks from bar, non alcoholic or alcohol drinks and that´s makes allways queues in morning time. Coffe from syrup. Vodka was 30%. Lunch was boring but breakfast cook was making better chicken at least. Evening buffet you can see frozen fabric products made up.Sunday was only beef. And there is no other place to go around to eat because you are from 15 minutes away from restuarants. Desserts are from powder, no cakes. Some powder jellys/puddings. Fresh watermelon. Sups are like water. Only white bread, no butter(margarine). Ketchup, mayo, mustard takes like watery. In the Greek night there was moussaka only special thing. There is only 2 times per week entertainment. Tuesday karaoke night and Saturday Greek evening. We took superior room and I reccommend the same after I saw that you have to pay extra for air con. or you are next to pool where cats can visit you or guests can see you in room. Even in All in Exl. you have to pay for extra fresh water bottle. Stoney beach from 15 minutes to walk. Plastic pieces swimming in. Overall. If you want to fry your body in the sun. Eat some fresh tomatoes/cucumber salad everyday and get some drinks. you ll surive. We are not coming back despite nice service people. Good luck.

I was in Greece for the first time, at the Meliton Hotel for 2 weeks. The food was of very poor quality and very little choice. For the first time on an all inclusive holiday I had to go to the markets for food. Ice cream was only available at lunch and dinner time. No other food available between main meals. No snack bar. The grapes at dinner were made of spiders web. Disgusting. The hotel owner told me that I drink too many drinks and I can only have one beer. Ridiculous. Another time before the bar closed I wanted to order 2 drinks but the bartender said that I had too many at my table and would not give me more. A cat started giving birth during lunch time, no one was interested except the lady from the bar staff. Everything is far away, the nearest beach is rocky. To go sightseeing you have to rent a car. Entertainments only Tuesday and Saturday night. No more. I do not recommend.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights with our 19 year old daughter, basic hotel but very clean and tidy, food selection could be better but if your not fussy then like us you will eat well. Rooms are clean but noisy due to there being no insulation in the hotel so you can hear all noises morning and night. Entertainment there is minimal which is karaoke on Tuesday and Greek dancing on Saturday other than that it's make your own. Plus side: Rhodes Town is 3euros on bus one way so we paid 10 for return. Taxi : 35 each way too Rhodes. Airport : 10 min away. Staff are very helpful and speak many languages, eve behind the bar in the day was very helpful and very polite. Pools are nice and chilled and easy to get beds. Overall lovely holiday for family.

Ok so this hotel is family run and I get it’s a small hotel. Situated about 15min walk from nearest shops and restaurants but very minimal in the area. 20mins to beach which is large stones and in places steep to get in although beautiful and warm with a few beach bars that take cash only. Hotel staff are fantastic. Especially the ladies on reception and lady in the bar. Owners on site and run the shop. Weird as they don’t engage with guests and only seemed happy on the Greek night. More to come on this! Rooms were clean and had a fresh lick of paint but need updating. We paid for a double but got two singles pushed together and a single on the side. They didn’t link and there was a gap big enough for my leg to sit in in the middle!!! Oh well, me and the hubby led single life’s for the week lol. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Luckily we are not big people as you can’t move in the shower at all. Toilet roll is not to be flushed and placed in the bin, issue being these were not cleaned daily so husband refused and we had to ask for toilet rolls during our stay. Bedding changed the day before we left and towels were only changed when we dropped them all on the bathroom floor (we are neat and always hang them but then realised they weren’t being changed). Aircon is €7 per day which we didn’t pay until the last night as it’s unbearable and we couldn’t have the balcony door open as the gnats bit us to death and the endless cats/kittens 🐈 right outside our door (I love animals but don’t want them snuggled on the bed with us). Our room was ground floor right beside kitchen and entertainment area which wasn’t bad but we couldn’t sleep on Karaoke night (Tuesdays) as the screeching went on until 2am ish and we had just flown in that night and was knackered. Greek night is Saturdays which we were looking forward to as the AI food wasn’t great, you won’t go hungry but it’s repetitive and bland. Greek night we thought ‘great, something traditional and they can’t go wrong’. They can and did. Not much different to the other nights and nothing traditional about it. Again bland, no hummus, olives which are bountiful on the island, and nothing that resembled other Greek food we had seen and sampled at two great local establishments. Greek dancers were fab but in the interval we had the owners doing some dancing, fair enough but it wasn’t great and then they had two old guys come on separately. One was ancient and could barely stand bless him and the other one looked like he was a friend half cut dancing very badly. Just there for the crack and a few free beers to fill the time me thinks. 🤔 Shop reasonably priced compared to other local shops. Sunbeds lots of and first holiday we haven’t had to reserved which was nice. Need updating as some were broken. Pool area and gardens lovely and clean although pool freezing despite 32 degrees, the sea was beautiful and warm. Drinks were nasty. I’m really not that fussy but it all seemed watered down. You get what you pay for. It is clean and the staff are wonderful. If you want a towel or a kettle you need to pay extra. There are so many extras that you might as well pay more and stay at a better hotel. It is a basic hotel. Nothing more. Food is good but little choice. The drinks are utterly diabolical! How you can ruin every soft drink is quite shocking. They have a SERIOUS wasp issue. Every evening they swam and ruin dinner. If you have an allergy to WASPS DO NOT STAY HERE!!! You need a car you can not really get around otherwise. Lovely people and you will have a great holiday but do not expect too much as you will be very disappointed.
