We stayed at this hotel twice during the summer season of 2024, in July and October. Overall, the holiday went smoothly, but we had items stolen from us both times. During our first visit, we let it go, as only perfume and a small amount of cash were taken from our rooms. However, on our second visit in October, the exact same perfume—newly purchased—was stolen again, which prompted us to report it to the hotel. We felt that, if it were our hotel, we would want to know if any of our cleaning staff were stealing perfumes or similar items from guest rooms. The thefts alone were upsetting, but the hotel’s response made the situation even worse. The hotel explained that they checked keycard activity for our room and confirmed that only we and the cleaner had accessed it. Despite this, they implied that we may have left the door or window open. Additionally, they suggested that if we want our belongings to stay safe, we should store them in the safe box. While the perfume and a few dozen euros may not be of high value, we believe that in a hotel of this standard, guests should be able to trust that their belongings will remain secure without needing to lock everything in a safe. It also became clear from the hotel’s response that they had no intention of investigating which of their cleaning staff might have committed the thefts repeatedly. Here is a quote from the hotel’s response: "At any case, the hotel cannot be held liable for any loss, all valuables items can be stored in the safe but at the same time the hotel is not in position to accept any loss if not acknowledged of each specific item in advance." So, if you choose to stay at this otherwise pleasant hotel, we highly recommend putting every single item in the safe and requesting enough safes to accommodate everything.
