Coliseum Studios & Apartments

A truly excellent accommodation. The rooms are spacious, bright and well decorated. The pool and bar are excellent. The staff (and the boss) are friendly, welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend.

Stayed at coliseum in August the hotel location is good the rooms are basic but practical the staff and owner are polite and knowledgeable and it's very close to St Thomas's Beach which is the best beach. Only thing that would make it better would to have increased room cleaning, in my experience of the travel industry most people would pay a little bit more in the holiday price to cover this.

would 1000% be returning to the coliseum next year. the owner Paul is lovely and the pool is so nice. we stayed in room no.9 (ground floor) and we had a joint balcony with our neighbours who were lovely. the balcony looked out to the pool and was beautiful. the workers were lush and were so kind and welcoming. for a family of 3 a two bedroom apartment was perfect. 100% recommend booking as you will have a lovely time.

Just got back today and what a great holiday. The hotel and pool is awesome and the staff are very helpful. Paul the owner was a laugh and gave good advice of where to go I.e beach and best way to go. It was our first trip to Greece and have just booked to go back it was that good. The room was clean and the balcony is huge with a sea view. We met loads of couples and families who all said the same. If you read some bad reviews you will worry but don't Paul and his team will look after you. I broke my key on first day in the electric but I told Paul and he sorted it in 5 minutes. He said we're here to make the holiday easy for you guys. So thankyou for that and keep up the great work

We loved our stay here! The pool is amazing, huge but not overly busy, diane cooks a lovely breakfast and lunch! Gyros are delicious. Rob is friendly and helpful, lovely english girl behind the bar was really lovely too. Paul, the owner is running a business, so yes there's rules but everyone knows where they stand with him that way, he went over and above in making sure we got the most out of our time here, helping with transport advice etc. Air conditioning is a must didn't drop below 34 degrees in july whilst we were there and there is a charge for that, also contact them by email and it's there in the room when you arrive! Rooms clean and tidy, close to all amenities. Felt safe in town as not huge, really friendly and lots of lovely people. I was worried when husband booked it as not great reviews but we loved every minute! Only about 25 apartments so everyone got to know everyone around pool and bar, really community feel to it

Having stayed in Pefkos many times, I thought I'd try this place out, how much I regret this now. We arrived just after midnight and the whole place was in darkness, we did receive a text from Jet2 with our room number on stating the key would be left in the door, this is fine however having never been to this place before, we had to search for our room. Entering the room we found that the air conditioning wasn't on, it's was a heat wave and was still 39 degrees when we arrived so we had no sleep whatsoever after travelling, not a great start. The next day we went to the bar, which doubles as reception to ask for the air conditioning to be put on, the charge was €15 per night or €100 for 7 nights, the lady tried to charge us for the full 7 nights even though it wasn't on the night before, after a bit of explaining of basic math, she agreed €90 charge, however was told there was a 13% charge for card payments, nowhere else in the resort is this the case. Was then informed that this is not a hotel but a self catering apartment complex so house keeping will only enter the room once a week, it's up to us to empty our bins and replace things like toilet rolls etc, nowhere is this advised when booking through tour operators. I'm on holiday, one of the perks of holidays is that your room is cleaned for you, not here. Housekeeping came in on day 2 of 7, replaced the towels and bedding, and that was it, no cleaning done. We were also charged the room tax which is normal on Greece however they charged us the rate for a 3* hotel, not self catering apartments, the rate is different according to the Greek government, and we have just been told that it isn't a hotel. One day, my partner brought 2 drinks at the pool bar and was short-changed by €10, the lady on the bar huffed and rudely handed over the correct change when her mistake was pointed out. On to the room, the rooms are so dated you feel like you've stepped into the past, I appreciate Greece is usually basic, but this is a whole other level. Most of the plug sockets in our room had paper pushed in them so couldn't be used, we had an extension lead in the kitchen for the fridge, kettle, and toaster, this sparked when touched The kettle didn't turn itself off, so it just kept boiling away until you stopped it, and burnt your hand in the process. The toilet was dirty, toilet seat stained and broken, shower matt had mould growing through it, and the shower head had clearly never been cleaned as only 4 or 5 of the jets actually allowed water through. The curtains in the room were basically nets, so as soon as the sun came up at 5.30 every morning, you're awake, unless you can fashion some kind of eye mask out of what's in your room. The pool area was dirty and looked like it never gets cleaned, sun beds in desperate need of repair or replacement, sun parasols ripped and full of holes, light inside the pool off the wall and lying on the floor with the cable just loose, not safe at all. Been going to Pefkos for many years and decided to try Coliseum for a change. Basic accommodation however clean, loads of storage. There is a 2 ring hob, fridge, toaster and kettle. Any issues we had were quickly addressed. The pool area was lovely, clean and plenty room between sun beds. Paul and Di were friendly. These are 2 star apartments and you get what you pay for. We had a lovely relaxing holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
