Absolutely Appalling – Avoid at All Costs After an exhausting overnight flight, we arrived at what we thought would be a place to rest—only to be met with an absolute nightmare. The room was filthy beyond belief: dirt everywhere, and worst of all, someone else's underwear left on the floor. That alone should’ve been enough to walk out, but things got even worse. Already frozen from walking around Reykjavík for five hours in sub-zero temperatures, we were forced to wait outside the hotel for over an hour because they wouldn’t respond to messages (which took 30+ minutes each time) and completely ignored our calls. Zero customer service. Completely indifferent to our situation. Eventually, we were given another room, but it wasn’t much better. The toilet seat was broken, and shockingly, the only sponge left in the room was a dirty dishwashing sponge—disgusting and utterly unhygienic. We were promised a refund for the cleaning fee as a bare minimum apology, but now over three weeks later and back in England, we still haven’t received a single penny. What’s worse is the owner has since been rude, dismissive, and totally unhelpful when we tried to follow up. No apology, just attitude. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing travel experiences we’ve ever had. The place is unprofessional, unhygienic, and clearly doesn’t care about its guests. Save yourself the stress—do not stay here under any circumstances.

We really enjoyed staying at Day Dream L23! It was located in the heart of Reykjavík on a residential street, which made our experience of the city more authentic. The room was cozy and warm and had everything we needed. The kitchen was super useful, as we made some of our meals at home. The hotel was a short walk to shopping, dining, the harbour and public transit. Overall amazing experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This property was amazing. Had guestroom with private bathroom. Check in and check out was flawless. I would add additional information about the electronic key box next to stairs. It was alittle confusing versus the email stated there was a key box outside door to room. Likewise, I would also add instructions on how to get out of the building as thr normal door handle doesnt get you out and you have to use the deadbolt know.

No Heat the room is small and the sink area had a leak so it would fall on our food and had to find in the small space a diff spot to prepare food. The room had no heat and how can you not realize there is no heat when the country is so cold and this would be the first thing you check. The bathroom is not made for a normal human to be able to fit in. It was very uncomfortable to get in even for my relative that is barely 5ft. The owner never got back to me when I placed my concern.
