Mythos Suites Boutique Hotel

We stayed in an Executive and Junior suite as a family and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. This is a small complex of suites in a beautifully converted old building. The rooms are amazing, all the planting around the pool and communal areas is fantastic and creates a really relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, organising airport transfers, answering questions before we travelled and making recommendations during our stay. Pool was lovely and really nice to have in the centre of the old town given how hot it was. Breakfast was lovely, lots of locally produced Cretan specialities. Location was perfect, right in the middle of the old town, 2 minutes walk from the Venetian Harbour and centre of the old town, 10 minutes to the beach on one side or the Fortezza on the other.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Wir haben uns in diesem kleinen, aber sehr feinen Hotel, sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein sehr freundlicher Familienbetrieb. Das Hotel liegt in der schöne Altstadt und doch sehr ruhig. Der Parkplatz ist 300 m zu Fuß gut zu erreichen und kostet nur 5€ pro Tag.

You get a very friendly welcome with a brief but very useful introduction to the hotel and the local area.The rooms we had were lovely with a relaxing vibe.Breakfast was excellent with a really good choice .The host gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and transport which were really spot on and avoided us wasting time looking at reviews.

We came to Mythos Suites 10 years ago and had a truly wonderful stay. 10 years later we returned to find it even more magical than the first time. This hotel is an absolute gem. It's right in the heart of the Old Town, which is full of great bars, shops and restaurants, but yet, as soon as you set foot in the hotel the noise of the town fades away. It's so peaceful and tranquil in the hotel. We enjoyed wiling away evenings in the sun on our balcony, overlooking the charming pool. The rooms are spacious, clean, and stylish and the breakfast was lovely: a smorgasbord of homemade Greek pastries, fresh fruit and other homemade local delicacies. However, above all, what makes this hotel is the staff. It's a family run hotel and they were some of the loveliest people we've met. Eirini and Eva went to great lengths to make our stay a truly memorable one. 10 years ago I would have given this hotel a 10/10, and now it's more deserving of a 12/10. It's a tranquil idyl in the heart of Old Town Rethymno.

What an amazing property! The staff, especially Irene, were kind and incredibly helpful. Everything was well maintained. It was lovely having a pool to dip in to cool off. Breakfast was satisfying. I would stay here again.

Having researched where best to stay in Rethymnon, we concluded that somewhere in, or close to, the old town was a good option … and we eventually decided that the Mythos Suites best suited our needs. We were delighted with our choice. It was an easy 15-minute walk from the nearby bus station (although we did get a little lost for a few minutes towards the very end, because the hotel is discreetly located at the end of a short side street …!). The location is excellent – just a few minutes’ walk to the seafront through the delights of the old town, and not much further to the Fortezza citadel on a hill overlooking the sea. The hotel is clean, compact, peaceful, and well designed. Room service was efficiently done to a high standard. We particularly enjoyed the local flavours of the breakfast each morning, with fresh orange juice, fruit salads, cereals, yoghurt, various hams, cheeses, breads, cakes and more. A personal touch was added by the owners of the hotel – Eirini and her mother – who were both friendly and helpful, and who quietly ensured that everything ran smoothly, efficiently and professionally. If ever we return to Rethymnon, we would be happy to stay here again.
