Minos Mare Hotel

De spa (Aegeo Spas) was echt een aanrader. Spapersoneel (Evdokia & Santy) was erg lief en vriendelijk. De massage was erg ontspannend en gespecialiseerd op onze lichamen. Tijdens de massage was er erg ontspannende muziek. Het hotel lag aan het strand. Echt een fijne locatie.

Voyage en famille au mois d'octobre, cadre très agréable, personnels très accueillant, aimable. Le buffet du petit déjeuner et du dîner est très qualitatif, nous n'avons pas mangé le midi. Il y a un bar cité piscine, des petits gâteaux..à manger l'après-midi. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Hotel très propre.

We arrived at the hotel at approx 0200hrs to be greeted by a receptionist who was prompt, professional and above all very friendly and helpful. He showed us to our room and explained all the cons and we were appreciative to find a sandwich and a drink had been left for us. The beds were comfy and well appointed with bedding. The wardrobes were spacious and had enough shelves and hangers. The balcony was big enough for two and over looked a garden. More importantly for us thew room was well away from the bar and we had a really quiet stay. Our neighbours were very quiet and there was no sounds to be heard all night. (FYI we were in 333 but I suspect 336 would have been better). The corridors on the top floor were carpeted and I suspect this helped keep the noise down. Now the restaurant and food. I had booked this break at the last minute and got an incredible deal so I wasn't expecting a lot BUT my word the food was divine and my wife who can be described as fussy was over the moon with the selections. The show chef on the centre area was very accommodating and would cook you other stuff that was out if asked. Good selection of sweets but I would have liked a warm dish with custard, but hey thats me! The bar, well stocked and with a good choice of drinks especially cocktails and if one thing (and yes thats the only thing) that lets them down is serving the cocktails in plastic cups. Glasses were available after 1900hrs but you had to ask and if you asked earlier the lady behind the bar got real snotty and was always looking at her watch. The staff were all brilliant except the late evening barmaid, but the man accompanying her made up for it and served me cocktails in a glass! The pool was clean and had sun beds around it. Mid October there was always a bed available and there was also beds on the beach which was clean and well organised. Possibly wouldn't want to go high season and fight the continentals over the beds! Spa, didnt use BUT I would have had a massage, especially as I had a sports injury but at 100+ euro's a go it was a no from me! Good choice. We would go again and we would definitely recommend it.

Les plus de l hôtel : une bonne situation en bord de mer , à proximité de Rethymnon ; les buffets soignés, à base de produits frais ; les chambres correctes et bien équipées. Les moins: l espace piscine qui mériterait d être rafraîchi ; le spa est inexistant, c est en fait une sorte de kiosque en bois où une dame fait des massages ( très cher,comptez 100 euros minimum); certains fument dans l espace restaurant ( terrasse) ,cela n est plus acceptable de nos jours! De manière générale la clientèle ( personnes plutôt âgées) fume et boit beaucoup....chacun appréciera.

Fantastic stay. Hotel is in perfect location with a great strip at the top of the road with everything you need. Hotel staff are lovely. Food was better than you would expect. Special mention for Dali the entertainer ! Top guy. Also the reception staff and bar staff who always had smiles on their faces and were super polite and friendly. Can’t recommend enough. Some other reviews were a little off putting to read before we came about rude staff etc - Complete opposite experience for us staff members made the holiday a wonderful experience Would definitely come back
