Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa

Enjoyed a fabulous twilight spa and overnight stay package. Every member of the team was so friendly, attentive and helpful. The facilities at the spa were great, including the bar service before entering the spa itself and we especially enjoyed the spa butler service! Our supper was perfect, not too heavy and tasted great. The number of people using the spa in the evening was just right, not too many but enough for them to be others to chat to. We stayed in a comfortable room and after relaxing for the evening , we were ready to turn in at 9.30pm. Breakfast the next morning was beaut, and again, the staff were all great. We headed back to the spa after a very straightforward check out and shared a double room for ‘best of both’ back massage and facials. The best treatment I’ve EVER had, the therapists were lovely and very thorough…and the massage beds were so comfy! All in all, a great experience, value for money and every staff member that we had contact with was outstanding and a true asset up the venue.

Having been to the hotel many times it was decided to go for afternoon tea for a golden wedding . The meal itself was really nice but for the first time in our experience the staff member was rude , disinterested and abusive Although she brought the meal there was one pot of tea to share between 2 and when asked for more was told that was all there was . It doesn’t cost anything to be pleasant but the way she slammed things on the table without speaking is not what I’ve come to expect from this hotel . The afternoon culminated when afterwards we went to the bar for drinks and as we were leaving we were accused of leaving without paying the bill in front of everyone in the bar Obviously we had paid but the whole.experience was tainted by this one person .

Fantastic meal this evening at Ye Old Bell. The steak pie and steak burger were top tier. Lovely setting in a cosy room. Staff are very attentive. Shout out to Ethan the waiter who Looked after us all evening. Would recommend to any family / Couple looking for a nice meal in a great setting.

We booked in at the Ye Old Bell for the new Sunday lunch sharer board with family and friends and it was absolutely amazing! The food was cooked perfectly and there was so much food that we had lots to take home which they happily packed up for us. Fantastic warm and friendly atmosphere, fantastic food and service and all at great value! Billy and Tom took extra special care of us and Jamie on the bar always made sure our glasses were full !! I would 100% recommend to anyone

We stayed here for Valentine’s Day and had booked the twilight spa package which was £280 and included a nights stay in the hotel with breakfast included as well as a 3 hour spa session with supper at the spa The spa session and the food at the spa were amazing, it was clean and well looked after and the staff there were all helpful, we will definitely be coming back to the spa again! Unfortunately the hotel itself was abit of a let down, we stayed in room 65 which rather then being ‘antique’ and ‘luxury’ was more dated and tired, the room was actually quite clean but the carpet had multiple dirty marks on which it appeared no effort had been made to try and remove them and the room itself could just do with a freshen up, if we hadn’t booked the twilight package and had paid the £205 for the room alone I would’ve been very disappointed. We also had the breakfast included in our package which was equally as disappointing, the toast which was meant to accompany our breakfast arrived at the table around 10 minutes before the actual breakfast appeared meaning it was stone cold by the time the food had arrived, the eggs were undercooked and snotty and the breakfast itself was just very underwhelming for the price of £19.50, I would save your money and go for breakfast elsewhere. We will definitely attend the spa again but we won’t be staying at the hotel next time! :)
